Linkage disequilibrium in MNSs blood group system in population of south Backa.

open access: yesMedicinski pregled, 2001
Linkage disequilibrium is a characteristic of MNSs blood group system which performs more frequent association of linked alleles than it is expected in comparison with their allelic frequencies. Measure of linkage disequilibrium is the difference between expected and actual genotypic frequencies which is stated in coefficient of linkage disequilibrium.

Neuroprotective Effects of Tuina in CP Rats Are Associated With Gut Microbiota Remodeling and Intestinal Barrier Restoration

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 15, Issue 12, December 2025.
TN‐treated CP rats show improved gut microbiota composition and enhanced intestinal barrier function, accompanied by increased serum SCFAs, elevated BDNF levels in the brain, activation of the NRF2/GPX4 antioxidant pathway, and reduced brain inflammatory markers, including IL‐6 and TNF‐α.

Selective Deletion of NBCe1 in Reactive Astrocytes Attenuates Ischemic Stroke Brain Damage

open access: yesGlia, Volume 73, Issue 12, Page 2386-2406, December 2025.
Main Points NBCe1 is upregulated in reactive astrocytes following ischemic stroke. Deletion of astrocytic Nboe1 reduces stroke volume, preserves AQP4 polarization, reduces BBB permeability, and improves neurological function after ischemic stroke. ABSTRACT The electrogenic sodium bicarbonate transporter 1 (NBCe1/Slc4a4), predominantly expressed in ...

Experimental treatment of stroke in spontaneously hypertensive rats by CD34+ and CD34- cord blood cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Human umbilical cord blood as a source of stem cells has recently been reported in experimental treatment of cerebral disorders. However, little is known about the nature of cells and cellular mechanisms leading to neurofunctional improvement.

Recovery after human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (hBM-MSCs)-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) treatment in post-MCAO rats requires repeated handling [PDF]

open access: yes
Rehabilitation is the only current intervention that improves sensorimotor function in ischemic stroke patients, similar to task-specific intensive training in animal models of stroke.

The VGAM Package for Categorical Data Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
Classical categorical regression models such as the multinomial logit and proportional odds models are shown to be readily handled by the vector generalized linear and additive model (VGLM/VGAM) framework. Additionally, there are natural extensions, such

Treatment with an Angiopoietin-1 mimetic peptide promotes neurological recovery after stroke in diabetic rats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
AIM: Vasculotide (VT), an angiopoietin-1 mimetic peptide, exerts neuroprotective effects in type one diabetic (T1DM) rats subjected to ischemic stroke.
