Analysis of the elemental composition in blood serum and hair of adolescents of different ethnic groups in Khabarovsk krai in connection with nutrition and technogenic contamination of territories

open access: yesСеченовский вестник, 2018
An ecological and biological examination of adolescents of the following ethnic groups of Khabarovsk Krai was conducted: Nivkhs (n = 25), Evens (n = 54) and newly arrived Russians (n = 23), whose average age amounted to 14.57 ± 0.24, 14.6 ± 0.2 and 15.00

Adjunctive Therapeutic Plasma Exchange in Refractory Adult‐Onset Still's Disease Complicated by Secondary Macrophage Activation Syndrome: A Single‐Center Experience

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Adult‐onset Still's disease (AOSD) complicated by macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) carries substantial mortality. The role of therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) remains uncertain. Methods We retrospectively analyzed patients with AOSD‐MAS treated with TPE at a single‐center.

Structure and superconductivity in the binary Re$_{1-x}$Mo$_x$ alloys

open access: yes, 2019
The binary Re$_{1-x}$Mo$_x$ alloys, known to cover the full range of solid solutions, were successfully synthesized and their crystal structures and physical properties investigated via powder x-ray diffraction, electrical resistivity, magnetic ...

Measurements of the branching fractions B(B¯0D*+π) and B(B¯0D*+K) and tests of QCD factorization

open access: yesPhysical Review, 2023
Using (771.6±10.6)×106 BB¯ meson pairs recorded by the Belle experiment at the KEKB e+e− collider, we report the branching fractions B(B¯0→D*+π−)=(2.62±0.02±0.09)×10−3 and B(B¯0→D*+K−)=(2.22±0.06±0.08)×10−4; the quoted uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. A measurement of the ratio of these branching fractions is also presented,

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

„Mo südda ligob mo sees.” Kirjakeelest kirjanduskeeleks

open access: yesKeel ja Kirjandus
Although Estonian written languages had existed since at least the first half of the 17th century, for a long time they were not used by native speakers either as writers or as readers.

Gravitational Quenching in Massive Galaxies and Clusters by Clumpy Accretion

open access: yes, 2007
We consider a simple gravitational-heating mechanism for the long-term quenching of cooling flows and star formation in massive dark-matter haloes hosting ellipticals and clusters.

CP-violating observables in four-body Bϕ(KK¯)K*(Kπ) decays

open access: yesPhysical Review, 2022
We analyze the four-body B→ϕ(→KK¯)K*(→Kπ) decays in the perturbative QCD approach, where the invariant mass of the KK¯ (Kπ) system is limited in a window of ±15 MeV (±150 MeV) around the nominal ϕ(K*(892)) mass. In addition to the dominant P-wave resonances, two important S-wave backgrounds in the selected invariant mass region are also accounted for.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...
