Electrodeposition of Ni-Mo and Fe-Mo alloys from sulfate-citrate acid solutions

open access: yesJournal of the Brazilian Chemical Society, 2003
This paper reports on a study of the electrodeposition of Ni-Mo and Fe-Mo alloys on Pt electrodes in a sodium citrate solution at pH 4.0. The alloys were subjected to cyclic voltammetry at different ion concentration ratios to identify their behavior ...

Angular analysis of Bsf2(1525)(K+K)μ+μ decays as a probe to lepton flavor universality violation

open access: yesPhysical Review, 2021
The flavor anomalies reported in RK, RK*, P5′, and B(Bs→ϕμ+μ−) indicate lepton flavor universality violation in b→sl+l− quark level transition decays. The deviation from the standard model prediction reported in the underlying flavor observables currently stands at the level of 2.5σ, 2.4σ, 3.3σ, and 3.7σ, respectively.

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Angular analysis of the e+eD(*)±D* process near the open charm threshold using initial-state radiation

open access: yesPhysical Review, 2018
We report a new measurement of the exclusive e+e−→D(*)±D*∓ cross sections as a function of the center-of-mass energy from the D(*)±D*∓ threshold through s=6.0 GeV, using the initial-state radiation technique. The analysis is based on a data sample collected with the Belle detector with an integrated luminosity of 951 fb−1.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
