R(D(*)) anomalies in light of a nonminimal universal extra dimension

open access: yesPhysical Review, 2018
We estimate contributions from Kaluza-Klein excitations of gauge bosons and physical charge scalar for the explanation of the lepton flavor universality violating excess in the ratios R(D) and R(D*) in 5 dimensional universal extra dimensional scenario with nonvanishing boundary localized terms.

CKM matrix and FCNC suppression in SO(5)×U(1)×SU(3) gauge-Higgs unification

open access: yesPhysical Review, 2020
The Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) mixing matrix and flavor-changing neutral currents (FCNCs) in the quark sector are examined in the grand unified theory inspired SO(5)×U(1)×SU(3) gauge-Higgs unification in which the 4D Higgs boson is identified with the Aharonov-Bohm phase in the fifth dimension.

Leukemia and Exposure to Potential Benzene Sources in Children From the Mexico City Metropolitan Area, 2010–2021: A Geospatial Analysis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Leukemia is the most common childhood cancer in Mexico, and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most frequent subtype. Exposure to high concentrations of benzene has been associated with ALL incidence, particularly in urban areas. This study evaluated the relationship between distance to benzene emission sources and the number

Psychosocial Functioning After Pediatric Bone Sarcoma: Generic and Survivor‐Specific Outcomes in Adolescent and Young Adult Patients

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric bone sarcoma patients and survivors may experience psychosocial challenges related to childhood cancer after their intensive, body‐altering treatment. This cross‐sectional study aimed to evaluate generic and survivor‐specific psychosocial outcomes in a national cohort of pediatric bone sarcoma patients and survivors, and ...

Taming the long distance effects in the Ds+π++ decay

open access: yesPhysical Review, 2022
The semileptonic decay Ds+→π+ℓ−ℓ+, where ℓ=e, μ, is used as a reference channel when looking for suppressed or forbidden processes of the standard model of the form Ds→Pℓ±ℓ′+. The process is dominated by hadronic resonances from the η to the ϕ meson region, usually excluded due to the large uncertainties associated. In this work, we explore the role of

Ironic Medications: A Narrative‐Based Psycho‐Educational Intervention to Explore Patient–Provider Communication in Adolescents With Haematological Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Adolescents with haematological malignancies face significant emotional and relational challenges, often accompanied by difficulties in communicating their needs within the healthcare context. To address these issues, a narrative‐based psycho‐educational intervention based on the creation and prescription of Ironic Medications was ...

Mo-doping heterojunction: interfacial engineering in an efficient electrocatalyst for superior simulated seawater hydrogen evolution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Exploring economical, efficient, and stable electrocatalysts for the seawater hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is highly desirable but is challenging. In this study, a Mo cation doped Ni0.85Se/MoSe2 heterostructural electrocatalyst, Mox-Ni0.85Se/MoSe2 ...

Re‐Irradiation in Pediatric Diffuse Midline Glioma: A Multi‐Institutional Retrospective Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Children with recurrent diffuse midline gliomas (DMGs) have limited therapeutic options at recurrence. Re‐irradiation (RT2) may be used at progression, but with uncertainty about the benefit. Methods We conducted a multi‐institutional retrospective study of children aged < 18 with DMG treated at three centers (Toronto, Canada ...
