Preparation of Fe-Mo, Co-Mo and Ni-Mo amorphous alloys by electroplating method.

open access: yesJournal of the Surface Finishing Society of Japan, 1989
The conditions for the preparation of Fe-Mo, Co-Mo, and Ni-Mo amorphous alloys by an electroplating technique were investigated. Mo is deposited as alloys when the iron family transition metal is in the plating solution, and when the concentration of Mo in the deposited film exceeds a certain limit the deposited alloy film becomes amorphous.

Effects of thermal- and spin- fluctuations on the band structure of purple bronze Li$_2$Mo$_{12}$O$_{34}$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The band structures of ordered and thermally disordered Li$_2$Mo$_{12}$O$_{34}$ are calculated by use of ab-initio DFT-LMTO method. The unusual, very 1-dimensional band dispersion obtained in previous band calculations is confirmed for the ordered ...

Experimental Results of Underwater Acoustic Communication with Nonlinear Frequency Modulation Waveform

open access: yesSensors, 2021
In this paper, we propose underwater acoustic (UWA) communications using a generalized sinusoidal frequency modulation (GSFM) waveform, which has a distinct ambiguity function (AF) and correlation function characteristic.

Stochastic Optimization of Dissipation Structures Based on Lyapunov Differential Equations and the Full Stress Design Method

open access: yesBuildings, 2023
This article presents a Lyapunov precise integral-based analysis method for seismic structures with added viscous fluid dampers. This study uses the full stress algorithm as the optimization method, considering the mean square of interstory drifts as the

An Algorithm for the Numerical Integration of Perturbed and Damped Second-Order ODE Systems

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
A new method of numerical integration for a perturbed and damped systems of linear second-order differential equations is presented. This new method, under certain conditions, integrates, without truncation error, the IVPs (initial value problems) of the

Accurate determination of the Lagrangian bias for the dark matter halos [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We use a new method, the cross power spectrum between the linear density field and the halo number density field, to measure the Lagrangian bias for dark matter halos. The method has several important advantages over the conventional correlation function

The Malmö Offspring Study (MOS): design, methods and first results [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Epidemiology, 2020
AbstractAs cardio metabolic disease manifestations tend to cluster in families there is a need to better understand the underlying mechanisms in order to further develop preventive strategies. In fact, genetic markers used in genetic risk scores, important as they are, will not be able alone to explain these family clusters.

Synthesis of cross-linked chitosan functionalized with threonine moiety and its application to on-line collection/concentration and determination of Mo, V and Cu [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A novel chitosan-based resin functionalized with threonine moiety was synthesized, and applied to the collection/concentration of Mo, V and Cu in environmental water samples, followed by their determination using inductively coupled plasma-atomic ...

Convergence Analysis and Cost Estimate of an MLMC-HDG Method for Elliptic PDEs with Random Coefficients

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
We considered an hybridizable discontinuous Galerkin (HDG) method for discrete elliptic PDEs with random coefficients. By an approach of projection, we obtained the error analysis under the assumption that a(ω,x) is uniformly bounded.

Universality of dark matter haloes shape over six decades in mass: Insights from the Millennium XXL and SBARBINE simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
For the last 30 years many observational and theoretical evidences have shown that galaxy clusters are not spherical objects, and that their shape is much better described by a triaxial geometry.
