A mobile EEG system for practical applications
2017 IEEE Global Conference on Signal and Information Processing (GlobalSIP), 2017Translating brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) from research into real-life applications is a major challenge. A mobile electroencephalogram (EEG) system is a potential solution as it has practical advantages in flexibility, portability, and tolerance towards gross movements, however, it may compromise the EEG signal quality.

Effect of Mobile Phone Radiation on EEG
2013 Third International Conference on Advances in Computing and Communications, 2013The electroencephalogram (EEG) is a record of the oscillations of brain electric potentials. The EEG provides a convenient window on the mind, revealing synaptic action that strongly co-relate with brain state. Fractal dimension, the measure of signal complexity can be used to characterize the physiological conditions of the brain. As the EEG signal is

Mobile Robots and EEG - A Review
2007In this paper we present an overview of recent methods of controlling mobile robots with emphasis on evolutionary approaches of robot control. Development of recent electroencephalogram (EEG) based Brain-computer interfaces (BCI) are discussed with the main reference to EEG analysis where brain electrical activity is classified with the intent of ...

EEG-Based Brain-Controlled Mobile Robots: A Survey
IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems, 2013EEG-based brain-controlled mobile robots can serve as powerful aids for severely disabled people in their daily life, especially to help them move voluntarily. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive review of the complete systems, key techniques, and evaluation issues of brain-controlled mobile robots along with some insights into related future ...

A mobile EEG system with dry electrodes
2008 IEEE Biomedical Circuits and Systems Conference, 2008A new EEG recording device demonstrating an ultra-high input impedance is presented. Dry electrodes made of conductive rubber were employed for this study with careful shielding of the electrodes and cables. The device has a small form factor, so it is wearable, and has continuous Bluetooth connectivity.

Spectral modulation of frontal EEG during motor skill acquisition: A mobile EEG study
International Journal of Psychophysiology, 2014This study investigates the modulation of frontal EEG dynamics with respect to progress in motor skill acquisition using a wireless EEG system with a single dry sensor. Participants were required to complete repeated trials of a computerized visual-motor task similar to mirror drawing while the EEG was collected.

Power analysis of a mobile EEG system with compressed sensing
2017 IEEE Biomedical Circuits and Systems Conference (BioCAS), 2017We analyze the power tradeoffs for computation and transmission in a mobile electroencephalography (EEG) system. The EEG system comprises an analog front end, microcontroller, and wireless transceiver. We measured the power consumption of the system under a variety of conditions in order to estimate the power attributable to each component separately ...

Design and Development of a Mobile EEG Data Analytics Framework
2019 IEEE Fifth International Conference on Big Data Computing Service and Applications (BigDataService), 2019In this paper, we discuss the design and development of EEG Workbench: a prototyping framework for building electroencephalography (EEG) data analytics framework for the Android platform. EEG data describe the activity of neuron populations in the brain and are acquired via electrodes placed on specific positions in the skull.

Topography of mobility and complexity parameters of the EEG in Alzheimer's Disease
Biological Psychiatry, 1991Mobility and complexity, Hjorth's parameters of the electroencephalogram (EEG), were calculated in 16 electrodes in a group of 14 patients with probable Alzheimer's disease (AD) and 14 healthy controls. Mobility was decreased in the AD group, differences reaching high levels of significance over all the electrodes.

Design and development of EEG controlled mobile robots
2016 IEEE International Conference on Advances in Electronics, Communication and Computer Technology (ICAECCT), 2016Many research activities have taken place in the field of brain computer interface based on EEG signal. The main aim of this paper is to give a good potential for disabled people where driving is impossible task for them. This can be achieved mainly by four steps i.e signal acquisition, signal preprocessing, feature extraction and classification using ...
