Experimental Characterization and Constitutive Modeling of the Effect of Prior Inelastic Strain on the Viscoplastic Behavior of AD730 at 700 °C

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows that superalloys used in aircraft engine disks become much more prone to deformation at high temperatures if they have been strained during manufacturing. This effect increases with the level of prior strain but eventually reaches a limit.

Voice-activated M2M Communication over GSM Network

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Engineering Sciences, 2008
Wireless M2M (machine-to-machine) has emerged recently as a new technology that allows machines to transmit or receive data remotely over mobile communication networks such as GSM. The conventional wireless M2M systems available on the market today allow

Modeling Dislocation Cutting of γ′ Precipitates in Ni‐Base Superalloys: Linking Atomistic and Dislocation Dynamics Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Dislocation cutting of γ′ precipitates in Ni‐based superalloys is investigated by linking atomistic simulations with discrete dislocation dynamics. The critical cutting stress is shown to be governed by the antiphase boundary energy, while line tension effects promote edge‐preferred cutting.

MOBILE MACHINES FOR THE MACHINING OF LARGE DIMENSION PARTS

open access: yesMM Science Journal, 2019
The machining of large dimension part presents issues of accuracy and of part handling. Machine-tools of large capacity are classically used, but they are very expensive. The paper investigates original solutions with mobile milling machines. A comparative study of a machining robot and of a portable milling machine is performed.

Additive Manufacturing of Alumina‐Reinforced Elastomers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Vat‐photopolymerized elastomers reinforced with platelet‐shaped alumina exhibited preferential orientation, reduced porosity, and significantly enhanced mechanical performance. A 3 wt% platelet loading increased tensile strength from 12.4 to 45.7 MPa, highlighting the critical role of filler morphology in elastomeric VPP composites.

Impact of MgO Additions on the Oxidation Resistance and Compression Behavior of Vanadium Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An increase in oxidation resistance at 600 °C is achieved for alloys containing more than 2.5 wt.% MgO. It has been established that, along with V2O5, MgO6V2, and Mg2O7V2 are formed, which are presumed to enhance oxidative stability. Furthermore, the possible transformation of Mg‐vanadates through reaction with CO2, which presumably occurs in this ...

Microstructure Modification of Additively Manufactured Mo–9Si–8B by Annealing and Its Effects on High‐Temperature Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Postbuild annealing systematically modifies the phase fractions and morphology of EB‐PBF processed Mo–9Si–8B. Quantitative microstructure–property correlations reveal how controlled phase evolution enhances high‐temperature compressive strength and creep resistance.
