Operating system support for mobile robot swarms

Proceedings of the Second International Workshop on the Swarm at the Edge of the Cloud, 2015
In this paper, we present an operating system for mobile robot swarms. Three main issues are addressed here: First, the programming abstraction is introduced that states the model based on which swarm applications are developed. They consist of spatial-temporal actions that are executed concurrently and distributed.

Mobile Operating Systems

2014
Mobile operating systems are a relatively new development in the computing world. Mostly they are based on some existing older OS, typically written for stationary computers and laptops. For example, Android is based on the Linux kernel, iOS on the Mac OS X kernel, and Windows Phone on the Windows NT kernel. The mobile OS borrows many features from the

Surveyor: A remotely operated mobile surveillance system

Proceedings. 1986 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 1986
A successful twelve-month program was conducted to evaluate and modify a commercial-ready, wireless, remotely operated surveillance system for use in nuclear power plants. The IRISR- SurveyorTMMobile Surveillance System (Surveyor) was evaluated and improved at EPRI's NDE Center and tested in Duke Power Company's Catawba Nuclear Station.

SOFC System Operating Strategies for Mobile Applications

Fuel Cells, 2005
AbstractSOFC systems, working at high temperatures of about 800 °C, have recently attracted significant interest for application as automotive and stationary power supply systems, based on gasoline or diesel heating. For periodically changing operation, the thermal management of the system, including start‐up and load following capability, is ...

ViRbot: A System for the Operation of Mobile Robots

2008
This paper describes a robotics architecture, the ViRbot, used to control the operation of service mobile robots. It accomplish the required commands using AI actions planning and reactive behaviors with a description of the working environment. In the ViRbot architecture the actions planner module uses Conceptual Dependency (CD) primitives as the base

The EmPOWER mobile network operating system

Proceedings of the Tenth ACM International Workshop on Wireless Network Testbeds, Experimental Evaluation, and Characterization, 2016
In this demo we present the EmPOWER Mobile Network Operating System. EmPOWER supports both WiFi and LTE networks and can interface with state--the--art SDN controllers using an intent--based interface. A Python--based SDK allows network programmers to write and deploy advanced control tasks as Network Apps.

Prototype of a paranoid mobile operating system distribution

2019 7th International Symposium on Digital Forensics and Security (ISDFS), 2019
Mobile systems abled a way to shorten the distance between Men. With this panorama also came cybercrime, terrorism and other phenomena of a moving society fully globalized, where the land borders are of little importance in the task of limiting the active agents, harmful or not, to these systems.

EIMOS: Enhancing Interactivity in Mobile Operating Systems

2012
Interactivity is one of the most important factors in the computing systems. There has been a lot of research to improve the interactivity in traditional desktop environments. However, few research studies have been done for interactivity enhancement in mobile systems like smart phones and tablet PCs.

Operational Study of a Highway Mobile Telephone System

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1951
The problem of interference of nearby stations was one of the greatest problems which had to be overcome to permit the satisfactory use of mobile telephone service. This article tells of a study made of the interference encountered on one highway mobile telephone system and the measures made to counteract it.
