Mobile Radio Diversity Reception
Bell System Technical Journal, 1969This paper examines a particular kind of diversity system, under conditions of multipath fading, when there is interference from either random noise or from an unwanted station. The transmitter sends a pilot wave along with the modulated signal. The receiver's mixer stage heterodynes the signal with the pilot (instead of with a locally generated tone).

Analysis of cellular mobile radio
1997Recent growth in the demand for wireless services has increased interest in queueing-theoretic models for cellular mobile radio systems. such models differ fundamentally from traditional teletraffic models because in cellular systems spatial structure is important. On January 27, 1995 Paul E. Wright from ATT this work will appear in [1].

Radio and Electronic Engineer, 1975
Marine mobile radio was a well established international service when the Institution was founded. Land mobile in contrast, was in its early conceptual stage. Pioneered just before and during the war, its large-scale development began in the 1950s. There are now 200,000 vehicles equipped in the UK alone but this represents less than 2% of all vehicles ...

Antennas for Mobile Radio Systems
2004Transmission and reception of radio waves require antennas. In providing gateways to transmission and reception of radio signals, antennas play important roles both at the base station and mobile terminal. Though, higher transmit power and greater receiver sensitivity can improve radio link quality and reliability, the regulatory authorities place a ...

Energy Reception for Mobile Radio
Bell System Technical Journal, 1965Statistical properties are derived for mathematical models of the multipath fading encountered in mobile radio. These properties are used to compare some receiving systems which use several antennas to combat fading. Particular attention is given to a system of J. R.

The development of the mobile radio service
2002Mobile radio-communication may be described as communication with and between individuals who may be in land vehicles, ships, trains, or aircraft, via telephone, text, facsimile, e-mail or other services.
