Cable Modal Parameter Identification. II: Modal Tests
Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 2009The cable dynamic stiffness describes the load – deformation behavior that reflects the cable intrinsic dynamic characteristics. It is defined as a ratio of response to excitation and represents a very similar frequency response property to the frequency response function (FRF). Therefore, by fitting both analytical cable dynamic stiffness and measured

Modal parameter identification using simulated evolution
AIAA Journal, 1997A global optimization algorithm based on the Darwinian evolutionary theory is implemented for the identification of modal parameters of linear vibrating structures. The capability of the evolutionary search method in locating the global minimum among numerous local minima is demonstrated.

Modal Parameter Analysis of Gyroelastic Continua
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1986This paper builds on the theory of gyroelastic dynamics presented in a recent paper by the authors. An elastic continuum with a continuous distribution of stored angular momentum (called gyricity) is considered. We introduce the modal parameters (coefficients) thereof, including integrals of the mode shapes, and show they must satisfy a number of ...

Modal Parameter Identification of Controlled Structures
Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 1997A simple procedure to extract the modal parameters of the closed-loop structural system is proposed. It is formulated by using the extended Kalman filter (EKF) technique. The unknown parameters are eigenfrequencies, damping ratios, mode shapes, and modal masses.

Modal Parameter Estimation Using Acoustic Modal Analysis
2011Acoustic modal analysis (AMA) is of interest in cases where accelerometer measurements are limited by mounting techniques and where the mass of sensors affects the system dynamics. Major problems in performing AMA are time delay adjustment and the inability of obtaining true driving point measurements.

Modal Parameter Estimation for Piezostructures
Journal of Vibration and Acoustics, 1995This paper is motivated by the need for consistency between piezostructure measurements and existing modal analysis approaches. Fundamental relationships are developed which reveal that the existing framework of traditional modal analysis approaches can be used to estimate modal parameters which describe the piezostructure dynamics.

Experimental modal analysis and modal parameters extraction
2009A case study approach in the inverse analysis of the modal extraction parameter has been implemented. The Mathematical model has been used to generate time response and random generator to generate added noise. The accuracy of modal parameters extraction techniques to error-contaminated measured data has been assessed for the simple examples.

FINITE DIFFERENCE FORMULATION FOR MODAL PARAMETER ESTIMATION
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 2000Summary: We deal with a new finite difference method for modal parameter estimation. This method uses formulas which involve differences between the frequency response data at three frequencies in the vicinity of a natural frequency to estimate this natural frequency together with the damping and the residue.

Modal parameter identification using Z‐transforms
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1989AbstractA method for the time domain identification of modal parameters of a vibrating structure using Z‐transformation sequences is presented in this paper. This identification proceeds using the Z‐transfer function of a vibrating structure from which an auto‐regressive and moving‐average (ARMA) model of the vibrating structure is derived.
