Modal Parameter Estimation Using Acoustic Modal Analysis

2011
Acoustic modal analysis (AMA) is of interest in cases where accelerometer measurements are limited by mounting techniques and where the mass of sensors affects the system dynamics. Major problems in performing AMA are time delay adjustment and the inability of obtaining true driving point measurements.

Modal Parameter Estimation for Piezostructures

Journal of Vibration and Acoustics, 1995
This paper is motivated by the need for consistency between piezostructure measurements and existing modal analysis approaches. Fundamental relationships are developed which reveal that the existing framework of traditional modal analysis approaches can be used to estimate modal parameters which describe the piezostructure dynamics.

Modal parameter estimation using synchrophasors

2015 IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Latin America (ISGT LATAM), 2015
The development and diversification of the Uruguayan power electric infrastructure, with the significant incorporation of renewable sources is leading to changes in the operation criteria. With all these efforts to make the power system more efficient and smarter, real-time analysis are becoming more required and necessary.

Experimental modal analysis and modal parameters extraction

2009
A case study approach in the inverse analysis of the modal extraction parameter has been implemented. The Mathematical model has been used to generate time response and random generator to generate added noise. The accuracy of modal parameters extraction techniques to error-contaminated measured data has been assessed for the simple examples.

FINITE DIFFERENCE FORMULATION FOR MODAL PARAMETER ESTIMATION

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 2000
Summary: We deal with a new finite difference method for modal parameter estimation. This method uses formulas which involve differences between the frequency response data at three frequencies in the vicinity of a natural frequency to estimate this natural frequency together with the damping and the residue.

Modal parameter identification using Z‐transforms

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1989
AbstractA method for the time domain identification of modal parameters of a vibrating structure using Z‐transformation sequences is presented in this paper. This identification proceeds using the Z‐transfer function of a vibrating structure from which an auto‐regressive and moving‐average (ARMA) model of the vibrating structure is derived.

Aliasing in Modal Parameter Estimation

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2007
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Experimentalists are familiar with the aliasing that happens in data acquisition when the sampling rate is less than twice the highest frequency of energy in the signal to be sampled. Much effort has been made over the years using a combination of analog and digital filters to make sure that the higher frequencies ...

Extraction of Normal Modes and Full Modal Damping from Complex Modal Parameters

AIAA Journal, 1997
The objective is a general damping correction procedure for determining the undamped modal parameters from damped system realization parameters. A discrete-time state-space realization of model test data is obtained using the eigensystem realization algorithm and polyreference, resulting in a set of difference equations. The realization is converted to

Parameter Estimation Techniques for Modal Analysis

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1979
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Parameter estimation techniques that can be used to determine modal parameters (frequency, damping, and mode shape) from experimentally measured frequency response or unit impulse response are presented with respect to practical implementation and use.

Modal effective parameters in structural dynamics

Revue Européenne des Éléments Finis, 1997
The authors review the concept of modal effective parameters within the context of modal superposition technique. They consider the general case of finite-degree of freedom linear structures in order to introduce the modal effective parameters which are independent of the normalization of eigenvectors.
