Horizontal Refraction Effects of Sound Propagation Within Continental Shelf Slope Environment: Modeling and Theoretical Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Horizontal refraction notably influences propagation characteristics with the variation of the waveguide environment. In this study, the horizontal refraction phenomenon at low frequencies was investigated in a sloping sea region with an incomplete ...

Conversion of Transplanted Mature Hepatocytes into Afp+ Reprogrammed Cells for Liver Regeneration After Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Donor‐derived tdTomato+ mature hepatocytes were FACS‐isolated and transplanted into Fah−/− host mice. During regeneration, these cells convert into proliferative, unipotent Afp+ rHeps. Their plasticity is governed by a PPARγ/AFP‐dependent metabolic switch, segregating into pro‐proliferative Afplow and pro‐survival Afphigh subpopulations.

Distribution-Free Normal Modal Logics

open access: yesLogics
This article initiates the semantic study of distribution-free normal modal logic systems, laying the semantic foundations and anticipating further research in the area. The article explores roughly the same area, though taking a different approach, as a

A constructive modal semantics for contextual verification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper introduces a non-standard semantics for a modal version of constructive KT for contextual (assumptions-based) verification. The modal fragment expresses verifiability under extensions of contexts, enjoying adapted validity and (weak ...

Multimodal Cross‐Attentive Graph‐Based Framework for Predicting In Vivo Endocrine Disruptors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multimodal cross‐attentive graph neural network integrates molecular graphs with androgen and estrogen adverse outcome pathway (AOP)–anchored in vitro assay signals to predict in vivo endocrine disruption. By fusing information on Tier‐1 AOP logits with chemical structures, the framework achieves high accuracy and provides assay‐traceable ...

Title redacted for blind review [PDF]

open access: yes
This essay aims to provide a modal logic for rational intuition. Similarly to treatments of the property of knowledge in epistemic logic, I argue that rational intuition can be codified by a modal operator governed by the axioms of a dynamic provability ...

Reasoning about Minimal Belief and Negation as Failure

open access: yes, 2011
We investigate the problem of reasoning in the propositional fragment of MBNF, the logic of minimal belief and negation as failure introduced by Lifschitz, which can be considered as a unifying framework for several nonmonotonic formalisms, including ...

Decoding Naturalistic Episodic Memory with Artificial Intelligence and Brain‐Machine Interface

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Episodic memory weaves together what, where, and when of experience into a personal narrative. Cutting‐edge AI models may decode this intricate process in real‐life settings, revealing how neural activity encodes naturalistic memories. By merging AI with brain–machine interfaces, researchers are edging closer to mapping and even engineering memory ...

ON THE PROBLEM OF MODAL STATUS OF THE VERB LASSEN

open access: yesВестник Кемеровского государственного университета, 2014
The research describes the modern functional-grammatical specificity of the verb lassen in German, the influence of pre-grammatical changes in the semantics of the verb lassen on its present function.

Nsyilxcen modality : semantic analysis of epistemic modality

open access: yes, 2013
The aim of this thesis is to describe and analyze the modal system of Nsyilxcen, an Interior Salish language spoken in south central British Columbia and northern Washington State. In particular, it focuses on the epistemic modals mat and cmay, which express necessity and possibility with respect to certain bodies of knowledge.
