An Analysis of the Development Factors of Rail Freight Transport in Thailand: A Structural Equation Modeling Approach

open access: yesInfrastructures
The railway infrastructure projects in Thailand aim to shift transportation from roads to railways. This is crucial for transporting goods in emerging economies and increasing the demand for rail freight transport.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Success Factors in Transport Interventions: A Mixed-Method Systematic Review (1990–2022)

open access: yesFuture Transportation
This study is titled “Success Factors in Transport Interventions: A Mixed-Method Systematic Review (1990–2022)”. The purpose of the systematic review is to (1) identify effective interventions for transitioning individuals from private car reliance to ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Modal shift poedertransport

open access: yes

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...

Defect Grating Simulations: Perturbations with AFM-like Tips [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A defect grating in a silicon on insulator waveguide is simulated. We consider spectral changes in the optical transmission when a thin silicon nitride or silicon tip is scanned across the defect.

ATG4B is required for mTORC1‐mediated anabolic activity and is associated with clinical outcomes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The relationship between anabolic and catabolic processes governing lung cancer cell growth is nuanced. We show that ATG4B, an autophagy regulator, is elevated in lung cancer and that high ATG4B is associated with worse patient outcomes. Targeting ATG4B in cells reduces growth, protein synthesis, and mTORC1 activity, demonstrating a new relationship ...

The modality shift effect and the effectiveness of warning signals in different modalities

open access: yesActa Psychologica, 2005
Which is better, a visual or an auditory warning signal? Initial findings suggested that an auditory signal was more effective, speeding reaction to a target more than a visual warning signal, particularly at brief foreperiods [Bertelson, P., & Tisseyre, F. (1969).
