Breather Molecular Complexes in a Passively Mode‐Locked Fiber Laser [PDF]
Breathing solitons are nonlinear waves in which the energy concentrates in a localized and oscillatory fashion. Similarly to stationary solitons, breathers in dissipative systems can form stable bound states displaying molecule‐like dynamics, which are ...

Mode-locked lasers are the fundamental source of ultrashort and ultraintense light pulses and a principal pathway for three Nobel Prize technologies: optical frequency combs, chirped pulse amplification, and attosecond light pulses. They are essential in routine and high-level applications such as refractive surgery, spectroscopy, or metrology.

Sub-100 fs watt-level Kerr-lens mode-locked Yb:CaYAlO4 laser with a gigahertz repetition rate
We report a 1.04 GHz high-power Kerr-lens mode-locked Yb:CaYAlO4 laser pumped by a single-mode fiber laser at 976 nm. Based on a bow-tie cavity, stable unidirectional mode-locked operation is obtained with an output coupler of 1.6%.

Passively Mode-Locked Raman Laser [PDF]
We report on the observation of a novel mode locked optical comb generated at the Raman offset (Raman comb) in an optically pumped crystalline whispering gallery mode resonator. Mode locking is confirmed via measurement of the radio-frequency beat note produced by the optical comb on a fast photodiode.

1/1.5 μm Synchronized Dual-Band Mode-Locked Fiber Laser
A 1/1.5 μm dual-band mode-locked fiber laser is experimentally demonstrated. The laser is based upon an architecture in which the 1 μm and the 1.5 μm signals are generated in independent cavities that share the identical ...

Low Threshold, High Efficiency Passively Mode-Locked Picosecond Tm,Ho:LiLuF4 Laser
We experimentally demonstrated a passively mode-locked picosecond Tm,Ho:LiLuF4 laser with low threshold and high efficiency. The stable continuous-wave (CW) mode-locked operation with 12 ps pulse width is obtained by using a five-mirror cavity structure ...
