Disordered Rocksalts as High‐Energy and Earth‐Abundant Li‐Ion Cathodes
Disordered rocksalts with lithium excess (DRX) offer a new direction in Li‐ion cathode design beyond conventional Ni‐ and Co‐based materials. This review highlights the design principles, synthesis strategies, and performance optimization of DRX oxides and oxyfluorides for energy‐dense, sustainable batteries using Earth‐abundant transition metals and ...

Compact, robust, and ultralow‐loss on‐chip photonic devices are essential for densely integrated photonic chips. Here, the underlying radiation mechanism in topological valley edge states is unveiled and a new methodology of interface topology driven bandgap and wavevector engineering is proposed to thoroughly suppress their radiation losses, thereby ...

Environmental Control of Ferroelectricity in Hafnia Films
A reversible transition from nonferroelectric to ferroelectric behavior is achieved in hafnia films by modulating the surrounding atmosphere. The domain relaxation dynamics exhibit high sensitivity to environmental factors, including gas composition (ambient, N2, CO2, O2) and relative humidity, highlighting the crucial role of the measurement ...

Active Fabric Origami Enabled by Digital Embroidery of Magnetic Yarns
This study demonstrates a scalable textile manufacturing process that fabricates active origami fabrics (AFO) via digital embroidery of magnetic yarns. The programmable AFO exhibits reversible 2D and 3D transformations under magnetic fields, enabling functionalities such as altering surface roughness and linear actuation.
