Energy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.SSA‐optimized fuzzy‐PI control reduces battery stress in flywheel–battery hybrid energy storage systems by shifting transient power fluctuations to the flywheel. The strategy decreases ampere‐hour throughput by 46.1% and rainflow damage by 71% while maintaining stable DC‐bus regulation.

Energy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.A Type‐3 fuzzy ambiguity encoder converts rolling wind, price, reserve‐activation, and confidence features into central estimates and nested uncertainty bounds. These parameters are updated within a receding‐horizon MILP/MIQP that coordinates wind, battery, and supercapacitor capacity across day‐ahead and ancillary‐service markets.
