Mixed-mode computation of the transient dynamic stress intensity factor for multiple interface cracks

Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering, 2019
In this paper, the transient dynamic stress intensity factors are estimated for multiple cracks which are located at the interface between a nonhomogeneous elastic half-plane and an elastic half-plane. The material properties of the nonhomogeneous half-plane vary continuously in the y-direction.

Computation of Energy Release Rate and Mode Separation in Delaminated Composite Plates by Using Plate and Interface Variables

Mechanics of Advanced Materials and Structures, 2005
Abstract A model for analyzing mixed-mode delamination problems in laminated composite plates under general loading conditions is studied. The first-order shear deformable laminated plate theory and the interface methodology, which in turn is based on fracture mechanics, are adopted.

Brain computer interface (BCI) with EEG signals for automatic vowel recognition based on articulation mode

5th ISSNIP-IEEE Biosignals and Biorobotics Conference (2014): Biosignals and Robotics for Better and Safer Living (BRC), 2014
One of the most promising methods to assist amputated or paralyzed patients in the control of prosthetic devices is the use of a brain computer interface (BCI). The use of a BCI allows the communication between the brain and the prosthetic device through signal processing protocols. However, due to the noisy nature of the brain signal, available signal

Mode I fracture toughness of hybrid co-cured Al-CFRP and NiTi-CFRP interfaces: An experimental and computational study

Composites Part A: Applied Science and Manufacturing, 2020
Abstract In the spirit of advancing joining concepts as well as adoption of hybrid composites, the interface of a metallic foil and carbon fabric reinforced polymer matrix composite was explored experimentally and computationally. An out-of-autoclave manufacturing method, double-infusion VARTM, was successfully employed to create a hybrid composite ...
