High‐Transmission Mid‐Infrared Bandpass Filters using Hybrid Metal‐Dielectric Metasurfaces for CO2 Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 13, Issue 8, March 13, 2025.
This article presents a hybrid metal‐dielectric metasurface in transmission mode for mid‐infrared (MIR) spectroscopy. Composed of germanium on aluminium cylinders atop a calcium fluoride substrate, the metasurface achieves 80% transmission efficiency at λ = 2.6 µm with a narrow full‐width‐half‐maximum of 0.4 µm.

Optical Wireless Communications with Metasurfaces: Current Status and Potential for Intelligent Communications

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
Optical wireless communications (OWCs) provide a promising alternative to spectrum‐congested microwave wireless communications. Recently, the use of metasurfaces with sub‐wavelength features for dynamic beam steering, beam manipulation, and spatial or optical‐angular‐momentum mode generation, conversion, and multiplexing in OWCs is proposed and ...

Beaconless Auto-Alignment for Single-Wavelength 5 Tbit/s Mode-Division Multiplexing Free-Space Optical Communications [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Mode-division multiplexing has shown its ability to significantly increase the capacity of free-space optical communications. An accurate alignment is crucial to enable such links due to possible performance degradation induced by mode crosstalk and narrow beam divergence.

Cold Plasma Generates a Localized Inflammatory Response and Promotes Muscle Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
The immediate tissue response to plasma is a pro‐inflammatory response which is characterized by collagen clumping, innate immune cell infiltration, enhanced metabolic processes, and decreased apoptosis. The long‐term tissue response (4‐ and 14‐days) to plasma treatment is characterized by a decreased inflammatory response, decreased adipogenesis, and ...
