An experimental investigation of fracture modes and delamination behavior of carbon fiber reinforced laminated composite materials

open access: yesDiagnostyka, 2022
Mechanically, composite laminates perform exceptionally well in-plane but poorly out-of-plane. Interlaminar damage, known as "delamination," is a major issue for composite laminates.

Novel micro-scale specimens for mode-dependent fracture testing of brittle materials: A case study on GaAs single crystals

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2020
To study microscale fracture behavior under mode II and mode III loading new sample geometries are proposed. Finite element simulations were carried out to determine the mode I, II and III stress intensity factor distributions over the sample width as ...

Fracture Toughness (Mode-II) of Nanostitched Composites

open access: yesProcedia Structural Integrity, 2019
Abstract The properties of fracture toughness (mode-II) of nanostitched carbon/epoxy composites were investigated. The mode-II of the nanostitched structure demonstrated extraordinary enhancement considering to the control sample. It was proved that carbon nanostitching yarn in the though-the-thickness of the preform structure was adequate.

Influence of supercritical, liquid, and gaseous CO2 on fracture behavior in sandstone

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering, 2020
Storing CO2 in geological formations can reduce the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. In order to explore the fracture behavior of caprock during CO2 geological storage, three caprock adsorption experiments for supercritical, liquid, and ...

Mode II Interlaminar Fracture Toughness of Flax/Glass/Epoxy Hybrid Composite Materials: An Experimental and Numerical Study

open access: yesJournal of Natural Fibers, 2022
The mode II interlaminar fracture toughness characteristics of flax/glass/epoxy hybrid laminates were experimentally and numerically examined. Three types of hybrid composites that are made of flax (F) and glass (G) and with different layup sequences (i ...

Ofatumumab in Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein Antibody–Associated Disease: A Comparison With Rituximab

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of ofatumumab in patients with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody–associated disease (MOGAD), and compare it with rituximab. Methods We conducted a single–center, observational study including 22 MOGAD patients treated with ofatumumab and 21 treated with rituximab.

Early Clinical, Imaging, and Pathological Characteristics of SRPK3/TTN‐Digenic Myopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy was recently established as a skeletal muscle myopathy caused by digenic inheritance. This study characterizes the early clinical presentation of SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy in one previously reported and seven newly identified pediatric patients.
