Are there ghosts in the self-accelerating brane universe? [PDF]
We study the spectrum of gravitational perturbations about a vacuum de Sitter brane with the induced 4D Einstein-Hilbert term, in a 5D Minkowski spacetime (DGP model). We consider solutions that include a self-accelerating univese, where the accelerating

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Normal Mode Mixing and Ferromagnetic Resonance Linewidth [PDF]
The normal modes of an inhomogeneous thin film are obtained by diagonalization of the perturbed Hamiltonian. The resulting modes are mixtures of the spin-wave modes and the uniform mode.

Resonant Absorption as Mode Conversion?
Resonant absorption and mode conversion are both extensively studied mechanisms for wave "absorption" in solar magnetohydrodynamics (MHD). But are they really distinct? We re-examine a well-known simple resonant absorption model in a cold MHD plasma that

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Thermal counting statistics in an atomic two-mode squeezed vacuum state
We measure the population distribution in one of the atomic twin beams generated by four-wave mixing in an optical lattice. Although the produced two-mode squeezed vacuum state is pure, each individual mode is described as a statistical mixture.

Chaotic Turing-Hopf mixed mode
An alternative scenario for the onset of spatiotemporal chaos in one-dimensional extended systems arising from a phase instability of a Turing-Hopf mixed mode is presented. This mechanism leads to weak and defect turbulences. The transition between these two is either continuous or hysteretic, depending on the values of the parameters.

Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

In order to develop a new mixing procedure, we conduct DNS (direct numerical simulation) of vector controlled free jets. The inflow velocity of jet is periodically oscillated perpendicular to the jet axis.
