Assessment of Item Response Model-Data Fit Via Bayesian Limited Information Model Comparison Posterior Predictive Checks

Multivariate Behavioral Research, 2019
Model-data fit is critical to ensure valid interpretations of test scores. Recently, emphasis has been placed on Bayesian psychometric models.

Fitting a mixture of von Mises distributions in order to model data on wind direction in Peninsular Malaysia

Energy Conversion and Management, 2013
A statistical distribution for describing wind direction provides information about the wind regime at a particular location. In addition, this information complements knowledge of wind speed, which allows researchers to draw some conclusions about the energy potential of wind and aids the development of efficient wind energy generation.

Individualising Gentamicin Dosage Regimens

Clinical Pharmacokinetics, 1991
The various components required for individualising clinical drug dosage regimens are reviewed, including a study of 3 types of fitting procedures, 2 types of gentamicin pharmacokinetic model and the utility of D-optimal times for obtaining serum gentamicin concentrations.

Investigation of goodness of model data fit using PLSR and PCR regression models to determine informative wavelength band in NIR region for non-invasive blood glucose prediction

Optical and Quantum Electronics, 2019
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by the deficiency in insulin secretion or insulin action on target tissues. Diabetes being diagnosed, requires frequent monitoring. Current measurement techniques are invasive in nature, which is painful.

COVID-19 REINFECTION PROCESSES: MATHEMATICAL MODELING, DATA FITTING WITH TIME-VARYING PARAMETERS, AND OPTIMAL CONTROL STUDIES

Journal of Biological Systems
In this paper, we construct a COVID-19 dynamic model that included both the initial and reinfected population compartments, and conduct a structural identifiability analysis of the model parameters to ensure the robustness of the parameter fitting results. We use some actual statistical data from North Carolina to fit the model and estimate the values

Using Item Response Theory and Model—Data Fit to Conceptualize Differential Item and Person Functioning for Students With Disabilities

Educational and Psychological Measurement, 2008
The major purpose of this study is to describe a conceptual framework for examining differential item functioning (DIF) and differential person functioning (DPF) as types of model—data misfit within the context of assessing students with disabilities. Specifically, DIF and DPF can be viewed through the lens of residual analyses.

Evaluating Model-Data Fit by Comparing Parametric and Nonparametric Item Response Functions: Application of a Tukey-Hann Procedure.

Journal of applied measurement, 2017
This study describes an approach for examining model-data fit for the dichotomous Rasch model using Tukey-Hann item response functions (TH-IRFs). The procedure proposed in this paper is based on an iterative version of a smoothing technique proposed by Tukey (1977) for estimating nonparametric item response functions (IRFs).
