2015 ACM/IEEE 18th International Conference on Model Driven Engineering Languages and Systems (MODELS), 2015 Model-Driven Engineering is founded on the ability to create and process models conformant to a meta-model. Hence, meta-model classes are used in two ways: as templates to create objects, and as classifiers for them. While these two aspects are inherently tied in most meta-modelling approaches, in this paper, we discuss the benefits of their decoupling.
