Climate Change Agricultural Comparative Advantage and the US Trade Balance

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, Volume 48, Issue 2, Page 473-486, May 2026.
ABSTRACTCurrent science indicates that warming and elevated atmospheric CO2 will have ambiguous results for crop productivity depending on crop type and geographic location, whereas increased heat stress makes livestock and human labor less productive.

Spatial Distribution of Topmouth Gudgeonis Pseudorasbora parva Under Climate Change by Ensemble Models

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
This study predicted the distribution of Pseudorasbora parva, covering the ensemble model, global scale, and climate change. The overall trend shows that the potential suitable areas of P. parva will further expand, with high‐latitude or high‐altitude regions becoming more conducive to its survival.

Current and Future Potential Distribution of the Invasive Thrips Echinothrips americanus (Terebrantia: Thripidae) Under Global Climate Change

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
The study predicted the potential global distribution of invasive pest Echinothrips americanus using MaxEnt models, revealing its primary habitats concentrated in Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and Africa (total area ~ 3.41 × 107 km2). Under future climate scenarios, marginally suitable areas are projected to contract significantly, while ...

Long‐Term Historical Slowdown in Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation

open access: yesEnvironmetrics, Volume 37, Issue 4, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) is an important component of the climate system that profoundly affects the climate of surrounding areas. AMOC is expected to slowdown due to anthropogenic climate change. The scientific community has long been at odds regarding how much AMOC has already slowed down, and whether there was any ...

Heat and Cold Waves in Brazil: An ERA5‐Based Analysis of Trends and Seasonality (1980–2024)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 46, Issue 6, May 2026.
This study uses ERA5 reanalysis data to assess changes in extreme heat and cold events across Brazil from 1980 to 2024. Results reveal a sharp increase in heatwave frequency and a general decline in coldwave occurrences, though regional variations are substantial.

Assessing Past and Future Temperature‐ and Precipitation‐Based Indicators in the Republic of Yemen

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 46, Issue 6, May 2026.
For the first time in the literature, this work assesses the past and future climatic trends over Yemen, a highly vulnerable country for which science‐based, high‐quality information for the development of climate change adaptation plans was not available until now.
