A comparative analysis of Simplified General Circulation Models of the atmosphere of Venus [PDF]
Within the context of a working group supported by ISSI (Bern, Switzerland), we have made an intercomparison work between Global Circulation Models using simpli?ed parameterizations for radiative forcing and other physical processes.

Evaluation of MODIS LAI/FPAR product Collection 6. Part 2: Validation and intercomparison [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to assess the latest version of the MODIS LAI/FPAR product (MOD15A2H), namely Collection 6 (C6). We comprehensively evaluate this product through three approaches: validation with field measurements, intercomparison with other ...

Abstract Dental microwear texture analysis (DMTA) has emerged as a valuable method for investigating the feeding ecology of vertebrates. Over the past decade, three‐dimensional topographic data from microscopic regions of tooth surfaces have been collected, and surface texture parameters have been published for both extant and fossil species.

Projected Annual and Monsoonal Precipitation Trends of CMIP6 Over Peninsular Malaysia
In this study, we examined historical and projected precipitation temporal trends across Peninsular Malaysia using ground‐based records and CMIP6 models from NEX‐GDDP. Analysing data from 518 reliable gauges over 1973–2022, it identified spatial and monsoonal variations.

The graphical abstract presents observed (1963–2023) and projected changes in hydroclimatic extremes in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. It integrates dry‐spell duration (CDD) and extreme precipitation (R95pTOT) using CMIP6 multimodel ensembles under SSP1‐2.6, SSP2‐4.5, and SSP5‐8.5.

Anthropogenic aerosols mask increases in US rainfall by greenhouse gases
A comprehensive understanding of human-induced changes to rainfall is essential for water resource management and infrastructure design. However, at regional scales, existing detection and attribution studies are rarely able to conclusively identify ...

Anthropogenic land cover change impact on climate extremes during the 21st century
Anthropogenic land cover change (LCC) can have significant impacts at regional and seasonal scales but also for extreme weather events to which socio-economical systems are vulnerable.

Thin liquid water clouds: their importance and our challenge [PDF]
Many clouds important to the Earth’s energy balance contain small amounts of liquid water, yet despite many improvements, large differences in retrievals of their liquid water amount and particle size still must be ...

How Well Is Surface Diurnal Temperature Range Represented by Observations at 2‐m Level
We demonstrate that geostationary satellites depict well the Diurnal Temperature Range (DTR) in the US but differ from information at 2 m level from model outputs. Upper: mean diurnal temperature range (DTR) using GOES‐E based land surface temperature (LST) for January (left) and July (right) during 2004–2009. Lower: mean diurnal temperature range (DTR)

Global gridded crop models underestimate yield responses to droughts and heatwaves
Extreme events can lead to crop yield declines, resulting in financial losses and threats to food security, and the frequency and intensity of such events is projected to increase. As global gridded crop models (GGCMs) are commonly used to assess climate
