Scaled models, scaled frequencies, and model fitting [PDF]
I show that given a model star of mass M, radius R, and density profile ρ(x) [x = r/R], there exists a two parameter family of models with masses Mk, radii Rk, density profile ρk(x) = λ ρ(x) and frequencies νk n` = λ νn`, where λ,Rk/RA are scaling factors. These models have different internal structures, but all have the same value of separation ratios

A RICARDO MODEL WITH ECONOMIES OF SCALE [PDF]
A model of international trade that resembles the classical Ricardo model but differs from it in admitting economies of scale in production is described.

Parametric mesh study: Lucy Ashton case [PDF]
This study considers the ship Lucy Ashton, a benchmark case providing full-scale measurements of total ship resistance and boundary layer thickness. A series of CFD simulations was carried out for several different scales and Froude numbers, with the aim

Radiometric Scale Transfer Using Bayesian Model Selection
The key input quantity to climate modelling and weather forecasts is the solar beam irradiance, i.e., the primary amount of energy provided by the sun.

Scaling limits of a model for selection at two scales [PDF]
Abstract The dynamics of a population undergoing selection is a central topic in evolutionary biology. This question is particularly intriguing in the case where selective forces act in opposing directions at two population scales. For example, a fast-replicating virus strain outcompetes slower-replicating strains

Advances and visions in large-scale hydrological modelling : findings from the 11th Workshop on Large-Scale Hydrological Modelling [PDF]
Large-scale hydrological modelling has become increasingly wide-spread during the last decade. An annual workshop series on large-scale hydrological modelling has provided, since 1997, a forum to the German-speaking community for discussing recent ...

Upscaling soil moisture from point scale to field scale: Toward a general model
Field‐scale soil moisture measurements are valuable but rarely available because the resolution of most satellite soil moisture products is too coarse, while most in situ sensors provide only point‐scale data.

A supersymmetric electroweak scale seesaw model
In this paper we propose a novel supersymmetric inverse seesaw model which has only one additional Z 6 symmetry. The field content is minimal to get a viable neutrino spectrum at tree-level. Interestingly, the inverse seesaw scale in our model is related
