A Fully Nonlinear, Dynamically Consistent Numerical Model for Ship Maneuvering in a Seaway
This is the continuation of our research on development of a fully nonlinear, dynamically consistent, numerical ship motion model (DiSSEL). In this paper we report our results on modeling ship maneuvering in arbitrary seaway that is one of the most ...

A State Space Model for the Wood Chip Refining Model [PDF]
A detailed dynamic model of the fibre size distribution between the refiner discs, distributed along the refiner radius, is presented. Both one- and two-dimensional descriptions for the fibre or shive geometry are given.

INTERACTIONS IN SPACE FOR ARCHAEOLOGICAL MODELS [PDF]
In this article, we examine a variety of quantitative models for describing archaeological networks, with particular emphasis on the maritime networks of the Aegean Middle Bronze Age. In particular, we discriminate between those gravitational networks that are most likely (maximum entropy) and most efficient (best cost/benefit outcomes).

On the Bardina’s Model in the Whole Space [PDF]
We consider the Bardina's model for turbulent incompressible flows in the whole space with a cut-off frequency of order 1/alpha. We show that for any alpha >0 fixed, the model has a unique regular solution defined for all time.

A space-time conditional intensity model for infectious disease occurence [PDF]
A novel point process model continuous in space-time is proposed for infectious disease data. Modelling is based on the conditional intensity function (CIF) and extends an additive-multiplicative CIF model previously proposed for discrete space epidemic ...
