International Journal of E-Business Research, 2013
This paper discusses the possible blend between social computing and cloud computing. The result of this blend is the Sky model in which several clouds engaged in different types of social relations like collaboration and competition. Challenges and opportunities associated with the Sky model are reported in this work.

START Model in Science Teaching
2016This chapter presents a discussion of the START model, which has been internationally recognized as a useful syllabi-tracking system that can be applied to online and on-ground teaching. START, an acronym for “(S)yllabus Analysis (T)racking System Covering Objectives (A)ssessment Methods (R)esearch Component Inclusion, (T)esting Through Research,” is ...

The Ernst triadic model: A good start?
Brain and Cognition, 2014As a sociologist and youth worker, I have been interested for some years in the contribution of neuroscience to a number of social phenomena, and to the expanding interface between social science and neuroscience (and other disciplines within the new generation of biological sciences, such as epigenetics). The dialogue with clinical youth work practice

Abstract This chapter provides a technical model theory, using the resources of mathematical logic, for vagueness in some formalized languages. The system has a similar structure to the supervaluationist approach, employing the notion of a sharpening (or precisification) of a base interpretation.

Modeling at Computer: Getting Started
2018The dynamics of a synthetic gene circuit is obtained by solving a system of ordinary differential equations. However, even simple ODE systems can be too difficult to be tackled analytically. Hence, you shall recur to numerical methods. In this Chapter we will show how to use the software COPASI to write a model for a biological system and compute the ...
