Puzzles for matrix models of chiral field theories [PDF]
AbstractWe summarize the fieldâtheory/matrix model correspondence for a chiral đ©= 1 model with matter in the adjoint, antisymmetric and conjugate symmetric representations as well as eight fundamentals to cancel the chiral anomaly. The associated holomorphic matrix model is consistent only for two fundamental fields, which requires a modification of ...

Time after time â circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissueâlevel coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Nonrelativistic string theory and T-duality
Nonrelativistic string theory in flat spacetime is described by a two-dimensional quantum field theory with a nonrelativistic global symmetry acting on the worldsheet fields. Nonrelativistic string theory is unitary, ultraviolet complete and has a string

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions
Mutant p53 gainâofâfunction is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Sequence determinants of RNA Gâquadruplex unfolding by Argârich regions
We show that Argârich peptides selectively unfold RNA Gâquadruplexes, but not RNA stemâloops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This lengthâdependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SRârelated proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1â70K, and U2AF1).

Exact gravitational plane waves and two-dimensional gravity
We discuss dynamical aspects of gravitational plane waves in Einstein theory with massless scalar fields. The general analytic solution describes colliding gravitational waves with constant polarization, which interact with scalar waves and, for generic ...

Model Theory of Fields with Virtually Free Group Actions
For a group $G$, we define the notion of a $G$-kernel and show that the properties of $G$-kernels are closely related with the existence of a model companion of the theory of Galois actions of $G$.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved ironâstorage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryoâEM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Symmetry restoration and the gluon mass in the Landau gauge
We investigate the generation of a gluon screening mass in Yang-Mills theory in the Landau gauge. We propose a gauge-fixing procedure where the Gribov ambiguity is overcome by summing over all Gribov copies with some weight function.
