Rapid imaging in the field followed by photogrammetry digitally captures the otherwise lost dimensions of plant specimens. [PDF]
Abstract Premise We recognized the need for a customized imaging protocol for plant specimens at the time of collection for the purpose of three‐dimensional (3D) modeling, as well as the lack of a broadly applicable photogrammetry protocol that encompasses the heterogeneity of plant specimen geometries and the challenges introduced by processes such as

Abstract Drug overdose claimed more than 100,000 lives in the United States in 2021. Drug‐induced homicide (DIH) laws create specific criminal liability for individuals who provide drugs that cause or contribute to the death of another person. DIH prosecutions in the United States have increased substantially over the past decade despite the absence of

We developed a spatialized surface for the primary food of grizzly bears in southeast British Columbia. After using this huckleberry patch layer to model habitat selection, fitness, and density, in a bottom‐up top‐down paradigm, we found that huckleberry patches near forestry roads contribute very little to fitness and density.

Electric‐Field‐Driven Spin Resonance by On‐Surface Exchange Coupling to a Single‐Atom Magnet
A sophisticated method is established to drive electron spin resonance of a single spin on the surface using single‐atom magnets in proximity and the working principles are disclosed. This provides a key protocol to coherently control spins outside the tunnel junction of a scanning tunneling microscope, allowing on‐surface multi‐spin qubit platforms ...

The influence of equine hoof conformation on the initiation and progression of laminitis
Abstract Background The health and performance of horses are significantly affected by diseases associated with the hoof. Laminitis is a critical hoof disease that causes pain and, potentially, severe hoof and bone pathology. Objective To generate an equine hoof finite element (FE) model to investigate the impact of normal and toe‐in hoof conformations

voluModel: Modelling species distributions in three‐dimensional space
Abstract Ecological niche modelling (ENM), species distribution modelling and related spatial analytical methods were first developed in two‐dimensional (2‐D) terrestrial systems; many common ENM workflows organize and analyse geographically structured occurrence and environmental data based on 2‐D latitude and longitude coordinates.
