Three-dimensional visualization of neural networks inside bone by Osteo-DISCO protocol and alteration of bone remodeling by surgical nerve ablation

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Bone is one of the largest organ systems in humans and is considered to regulate whole-body homeostasis in cooperation with other organs. We have previously reported that a sympathetic or sensory nervous system inside bone regulates bone homeostasis ...

Loss of Stat3 in Prx1+ Progenitors Impairs Molar Root Development

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Stat3 critically regulates mandibular first molar and alveolar bone morphogenesis. Conditional ablation of Stat3 disrupts the osteogenic capacity of Prx1+ mesenchymal progenitors, as evidenced across in vivo and in vitro models. Abstract Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3 (Stat3) acts as a central transcriptional modulator coordinating ...

Graphene–Catechol Dental Sealant: Antibacterial and Mechanical Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents dental sealants made with graphene and L‐DOPA‐modified graphene. L‐DOPA enhances graphene dispersion, improving sealant properties. The material shows antibacterial activity against S. mutans and L. casei, along with high strength and elasticity.

Trueness and precision of intraoral scanners in the maxillary dental arch: an in vivo analysis

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
Intraoral three-dimensional imaging has gained great interest in dentistry as a mean to generate risk-free imprints of the oral cavity. Accurate intraoral models facilitate proper diagnosis, growth assessment, outcome evaluation, and 3D printing ...

Effect of Annealing Temperature on Microstructure and Dry‐Sliding Behavior of Powder Bed Fusion–Laser Beam Ti6Al2Sn4Zr6Mo Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Heat treatment parameters critically affect the wear resistance of powder bed fusion–laser beam (PBF‐LB)‐produced Ti–6Al–2Sn–4Zr–6Mo alloy. This study found that optimizing annealing temperature allows to obtain a tailored microstructure, which enhances the dry‐sliding behavior by forming a stable and functional mechanically mixed layer (MML), ensuring

Antifungal Activity of Type III Dental Gypsum Incorporated with 3-iodo-2- Propynyl-Butylcarbamate

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
The fungal growth on dental model can damage and affect the physical appearance of the gypsum. Fungi can be transferred among patients and dental personnel. Moreover, they relate to numerous illnesses. Thus, the development of antifungal dental gypsum is

Replication of Known Dental Characteristics in Porcine Skin: Emerging Technologies for the Imaging Specialist [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This study demonstrates that it is sometimes possible to replicate patterns of human teeth in pig skin and determine scientifically that a given injury pattern (bite mark) correlates with the dentitions of a very small proportion of a population dataset,
