Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1971Abstract A model of psychological functioning, based on the activity of individual neurons, is proposed. A method to identify general patterns of behavior is outlined. A biochemical mechanism to account for synaptic transmission and modification of behavior by experience is suggested and incorporated in a holographic model of memory.
