The Genetic Variability of Present-Day Bulgarians Captures Ancient and Recent Ancestral Contributions. [PDF]

open access: yesAm J Biol Anthropol
ABSTRACT Objectives Thanks to its pivotal crossroad position, Bulgaria played a fundamental key role during all the migration processes that interested the continent through time. While the genetic variability of the country has been deeply investigated using uniparental markers, previous genome‐wide autosomal‐based surveys mainly consisted of wider ...

Feasibility and efficacy of 50 W ablation with the TactiFlex catheter for the initial pulmonary vein isolation of atrial fibrillation. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Arrhythm
The First‐pass isolation (FPI) group had a significantly greater impedance drop compared to the non‐FPI group, with cut‐off values of 13.5 ohms for the LPV and 14.5 ohms for the RPV. Abstract Background A novel contact force (CF) sensing catheter with a mesh‐shaped irrigation tip (TactiFlexTM SE, Abbott), is expected to provide safe and effective ...

A Real-World Data-Based Analysis of Prognostic Indices as Part of Trial Eligibility Criteria in Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma Patients. [PDF]

open access: yesEur J Haematol
ABSTRACT Objectives Recent front‐line clinical trials used the International Prognostic Index (IPI) to identify trial‐eligible patients with newly diagnosed diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma (DLBCL). However, many IPI‐like variants with improved accuracy have been developed over the years for rituximab‐treated patients.

Attitudes to Pregnancy, Childbirth and Postnatal Complications in Medieval English Miracula

open access: yesGender &History, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract This article re‐examines the evidence about childbirth and related topics in the posthumous miracle collections of English saints. Pre‐industrial Use of Bauxite by Late Gothic Goldsmith Masters: Analytical Evidence and Experimental Study

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
First analytical evidence and replication of yet undescribed substantial change in gilding technology in the early modern period ‐ the replacement of imported red clay (bole) with locally available bauxite. Proof of its source ‐ Croatian Minjera, according to a unique find of mineral diaspore.

Political connections cause resource misallocation: Evidence from the fall of fascism in Italy

open access: yesFinancial Management, EarlyView.
Abstract The fall of fascism in Italy in 1943–1944 was followed by the issuance of laws and decrees that made former fascist politicians ineligible for political office. This setting provides a unique quasi‐natural experiment that exogenously and permanently disrupted then prevalent corporate political connections.

Modelling the distribution of plant‐associated microbes with species distribution models

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 113, Issue 6, Page 1434-1450, June 2025.
There are numerous challenges and open questions related to modelling the distribution of plant‐associated microbes. In this article, we present a conceptual framework for predictive modelling of the distribution of plant‐associated microbiota and apply this framework to a case study demonstrating how incorporating host information can improve the ...

Double‐Sided Control of Product Type Preference in the Visible‐Light Initiated Reaction of 1,3‐Dicarbonyl Compounds with Alkenes

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 367, Issue 10, May 20, 2025.
Abstract The demonstrated light‐initiated addition of radicals formed on an active methylene group to styrene derivatives exhibits a product selectivity influenced by the presence of a protic solvent. Under protic conditions, the predominant products are branched compounds with the alkene moiety attached to the methylene group.
