The Geology of Aquitards in Alluvial Aquifers: A Predictive Approach Based on Facies Models
We review facies models for alluvial aquifers and demonstrate how they can be used to predict aquifer and aquitard continuity in three dimensions. We provide case studies illustrating how facies models can be used to improve groundwater investigation and remediation outcomes.

This study indicates that Hester Marsh, a restored site successfully maintains surface elevation, resulting in reduced surface inundation. The low‐lying Yampah Marsh, a reference site, is likely to be inundated due to future sea level rise (SLR) when the highest tides arrive, while a higher percentage of Hester Marsh would retain marsh vegetation in ...

3-D land subsidence simulation using the NDIS package for MODFLOW [PDF]
The standard subsidence package for MODFLOW, MODFLOW-SUB simulates aquifer-system compaction and subsidence assuming that only 1-D-vertical displacement of the aquifer system occurs in response to applied stresses such as drawdowns accompanying ...

Effects of Subsurface Water Infiltration Systems on Groundwater Table Dynamics in Drained Peat Soils
The effects of subsurface water infiltration systems on groundwater table dynamics are captured in six hydrologically relevant parameters for five sites. Water infiltration systems, if applied correctly, reduce the amplitude in groundwater table fluctuations, most notably by raising water tables during dry periods.
