Geometric Nature of the Turánian of Modified Bessel Function of the First Kind

open access: yesAxioms
This work explores the geometric properties of the Turanian of the modified Bessel function of the first kind (TMBF). Using the properties of the digamma function, we establish conditions under which the normalized TMBF satisfies starlikeness, convexity,

Local Polynomial Regression and Filtering for a Versatile Mesh‐Free PDE Solver

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, EarlyView.
A high‐order, mesh‐free finite difference method for solving differential equations is presented. Both derivative approximation and scheme stabilisation is carried out by parametric or non‐parametric local polynomial regression, making the resulting numerical method accurate, simple and versatile. Numerous numerical benchmark tests are investigated for

Alternative Price Dynamics and Valuation of Flexible Strategies

open access: yesInternational Journal of Finance &Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this article, we study the optimal operational strategy of production projects. We investigate different underlying price models and determine the optimal barriers of transition to suspension, recovery, or irreversible abandonment of productive activity.

The Modified q-Bessel Functions and the q-Bessel-Macdonald Functions

open access: yes, 1995
We define a q-analog of the modified Bessel and Bessel-Macdonald functions. As for the q-Bessel functions of Jackson there is a couple of functions of the both kind. They are arisen in the Harmonic analysis on quantum symmetric spaces similarly to their classical counterpart. Their definition is based on the power expansions.

Recent Advances in Photonic Bound States in the Continuum: From Fundamentals to Engineering and Implementation

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This review summarizes recent progress in meta‐photonics with a focus on bound states in the continuum (BICs) as a powerful platform for light confinement and control. It covers fundamental concepts, design strategies across optical regimes, symmetry breaking for practical quasi‐BICs, tunable and AI‐assisted BIC devices, and emerging applications in ...

A highly accurate numerical method for solving boundary value problem of generalized Bagley‐Torvik equation

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
A highly accurate numerical method is given for the solution of boundary value problem of generalized Bagley‐Torvik (BgT) equation with Caputo derivative of order 0<β<2$$ 0<\beta <2 $$ by using the collocation‐shooting method (C‐SM). The collocation solution is constructed in the space Sm+1(1)$$ {S}_{m+1}^{(1)} $$ as piecewise polynomials of degree at ...
