Multispectral Concentric Grafted Perfect Vector Vortex Beam

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Multispectral structured light offers powerful opportunities for increasing information capacity. A multispectral concentric grafted perfect vector vortex beam is proposed to engineer topological charges and polarization. A metasurface can graft different perfect vector vortex beams across concentric spatial regions and extend this concept to ...

Some families of generating functions for the multiple orthogonal polynomials associated with modified Bessel K-functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The main object of this paper is to derive several substantially more general families of bilinear, bilateral, and mixed multilateral finite-series relationships and generating functions for the multiple orthogonal polynomials associated with the ...

Extreme Optical Field Confinement and Enhancement in a Plasmonic Picopatch Within a Nanoparticle‐on‐Mirror Resonator

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A picopatch in a plasmonic nanocavity confines the electromagnetic energy to tiny effective volumes, close to 1nm3, leading to extreme electric field enhancements. Furthermore, a clear signature of strong coupling between the picopatch modes and other modes of the structure is obtained, which strongly modifies the far‐field response. ABSTRACT Plasmonic

Atmospheric Corrosion Protection of LPBF Manufactured AlSi10Mg by Combining SiOx‐CVD and PDMS Grafting

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, EarlyView.
Hybrid SiOₓ‐CVD/PDMS ultrathin films mitigate atmospheric corrosion of additively manufactured AlSi10Mg. Electrochemical analyses show reduced corrosion currents, increased charge‐transfer resistance, and suppressed pitting due to diminished cathodic activity and limited oxygen and ion transport under NaCl exposure.

A linear combination of modified Bessel functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
A linear combination of modified Bessel functions is defined, discussed briefly, and tabulated. This combination was found to recur in the analysis of various heat transfer problems and in the analysis of the thermal behavior of living tissue when ...

A highly accurate numerical method for solving boundary value problem of generalized Bagley‐Torvik equation

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
A highly accurate numerical method is given for the solution of boundary value problem of generalized Bagley‐Torvik (BgT) equation with Caputo derivative of order 0<β<2$$ 0<\beta <2 $$ by using the collocation‐shooting method (C‐SM). The collocation solution is constructed in the space Sm+1(1)$$ {S}_{m+1}^{(1)} $$ as piecewise polynomials of degree at ...

Effective Modeling of Continuous Wave Z$$ Z $$‐Spectra for Quantitative CEST and CESL MRI Across Exchange Regimes

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
Purpose Chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) and chemical exchange‐sensitive spin‐lock (CESL) MRI enable spectroscopic imaging with high sensitivity, but conventional analysis methods often fail as exchange approaches the fast‐exchange limit.

Propagation of modified Bessel-Gaussian beams in turbulence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We investigate the propagation characteristics of modified Bessel-Gaussian beams traveling in a turbulent atmosphere. The source beam formulation comprises a Gaussian exponential and the summation of modified Bessel functions.

Regional analysis of spatiotemporal trends in Colorado potato beetle abundance

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Leveraging a large data set on Colorado potato beetles in Wisconsin, we examine spatial and temporal abundance trends. Spatiotemporal statistical models substantially improve fit and show that climate and management factors are positively associated with abundance levels.
