Conformal Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces: A Cylindrical Geometry Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Cylindrical reconfigurable intelligent surfaces are explored for low‐complexity beam steering using one‐bit meta‐atoms. A multi‐level modeling approach, including optimization‐based synthesis, demonstrates that even minimal hardware can support directive scattering.

Transient free convection flow past an accelerated vertical cylinder in a rotating fluid

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2014
The flow of a viscous incompressible fluid past an accelerated vertical circular cylinder in a rotating fluid is analyzed in this study. The cylinder starts impulsively from rest with uniform acceleration in its own plane relative to the rotating fluid ...

Monotonicity and complete monotonicity of some functions involving the modified Bessel functions of the second kind

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique, 2023
In this paper, we introduce some monotonicity rules for the ratio of integrals. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the function $-T_{\nu ,\alpha ,\beta }(s)$ is completely monotonic in $s$ and absolutely monotonic in $\nu $ if and only if $\beta \ge 1 ...

Exact vortex solutions of the complex sine-Gordon theory on the plane

open access: yes, 1998
We construct explicit multivortex solutions for the first and second complex sine-Gordon equations. The constructed solutions are expressible in terms of the modified Bessel and rational functions, respectively.

Computational study of permeability in cardboard coating layers

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract We develop a virtual material structure model based on a combination of tessellations and Gaussian random fields for a coating layer of paperboard used for packaging and designed to facilitate printing on the surface. To fit the model to tomographic image data acquired using combined focused ion beam and scanning electron microscopy (FIB‐SEM),

On the characterization properties of certain hypergeometric functions in the open unit disk

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2022
Our purpose in the present investigation is to study certain geometric properties such as the close-to-convexity, convexity, and starlikeness of the hypergeometric function z 1 F 2 ( a ; b , c ; z ) $z{}_{1}F_{2}(a;b,c;z)$ in the open unit disk.

Lebedev's type index transforms with the modified Bessel functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
New index transforms of the Lebedev type are investigated. It involves the real part of the product of the modified Bessel functions as the kernel.

Deconstructing Scalar QED at Zero and Finite Temperature

open access: yes, 2002
We calculate the effective potential for the WLPNGB in a world with a circular latticized extra dimension. The mass of the WLPNGB is calculated from the one-loop quantum effect of scalar fields at zero and finite temperature.

On a product of modified Bessel functions [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 2008
Summary: Let \(I_{\nu}\) and \( K_{\nu}\) denote the modified Bessel functions of the first and second kinds of order \( \nu.\) In this note we prove that the monotonicity of \( u \mapsto I_{\nu}(u)K_{\nu}(u)\) on \( (0,\infty)\) for all \( \nu\geq -1/2\) is an almost immediate consequence of the corresponding Turán type inequalities for the modified ...
