A novel blunt dissection technique to treat modified deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK)-associated high astigmatism. [PDF]

open access: bronzeEye (Lond), 2020
To describe a new surgical technique to correct a high astigmatism following modified deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) and to evaluate the associated clinical outcomes.Retrospective interventional case series included eyes with high astigmatism following modified DALK performed between July 2012 and June 2016.

Clinical Outcomes of Modified Manual Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty for Eyes with Previous Radial Keratotomy. [PDF]

open access: goldJ Clin Med
Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the intraoperative complications and visual outcomes of manual deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (mDALK) in patients who underwent previous radial keratotomy (RK) for myopia. Methods: The notes of patients who underwent mDALK after RK at three different hospitals—San Giovanni Addolorata Hospital (Rome,

Modified big‐bubble technique compared to manual dissection deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty in the treatment of keratoconus [PDF]

open access: bronzeActa Ophthalmologica, 2015
AbstractPurposeTo evaluate the clinical findings and results of manual dissection deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) compared to a modified big‐bubble DALK technique in eyes affected by keratoconus.MethodsSixty eyes of 60 patients with keratoconus were treated with one of the two surgical techniques manual DALK (n = 30); big‐bubble DALK (n = 30)

Modified big-bubble for deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty

open access: closedJournal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, 2021
A new technique of air injection is described for big-bubble deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) in eyes with keratoconus, along with a comparative analysis of the original technique. Fifty eyes were analyzed in each group. The mean steep keratometry and anterior chamber depth distribution were comparable between the 2 groups.

Case series of deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty combined with phacoemulsification and intra-ocular lens implantation – a modified triple procedure

open access: hybridJournal of the College of Ophthalmologists of Sri Lanka, 2020
Background: Patients presenting with corneal pathology and cataract present a surgical challenge to the operating surgeon. Some Ophthalmologists prefer to perform combined keratoplasty and cataract surgery simultaneously, while some prefer to perform sequentially.

Comparison and Correlation of the Donor-Recipient Interface Changes and Visual Outcomes Between nDSEK and DSEK. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Ophthalmol
Purpose: This study aimed to compare the donor–recipient interface changes between non‐Descemet stripping endothelial keratoplasty (nDSEK) and Descemet stripping endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK) and assess their correlation with the postoperative best spectacle‐corrected visual acuity (BCVA).
