Analysis of Optical Transfer Function and Phase Error of the Modified Triangular Interferometer
Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, 2007We synthesize and analyze the optical transfer function(OTF) of the modified triangular interferometer(MTI) using two-pupil synthesis method, and we present the optimal MTI, which can obtain any bipolar function by combining a wave plate and a linear polarizer. Also, we analyze its potential phase error sources caused by polarization components.

Clinically, the modified Bruce protocol is widely used to predict functional capacity in postmyocardial infarction (post-MI) patients. However, it has been suggested that post-MI patients have lower oxygen uptakes for standard workloads. In order to study this, we measured oxygen uptake (VO2) and venous blood lactic acid concentration in 12 post-MI ...

A method to generate electrostatic potential (ESP) derived atomic charges in crystalline solids from periodic quantum mechanical calculations, termed the REPEAT method, is presented. Conventional ESP fitting procedures developed for molecular systems, in general, will not work for crystalline systems because the electrostatic potential in periodic ...

An Improved Algorithm for Eleman Neural Network by Adding a Modified Error Function
2007The Eleman Neural Network has been widely used in various fields ranging from temporal version of the Exclusive-OR function to the discovery of syntactic categories in natural language date. However, one of the problems often associated with this type of network is the local minima problem which usually occurs in the process of the learning.

Video transmission over wireless networks becomes a major part of multimedia studies especially after fourth-generation communication standard has been introduced. There is a growing need to improve video visual quality, while its computational complexity should remain low. One of the low-complexity Error Concealment (EC) methods for missing macroblock

Modifying Stokes' function to reduce the error of geoid undulation computations
Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, 1981A comparison is made of the errors in determining the geoid undulation according to the conventional Molodenskii truncation theory and its modifications as suggested by Molodenskii (1958) and Meissl (1971). The undulation is assumed to be computed from gravity anomalies in a spherical cap and a finite set of harmonic potential coefficients (e.g., GEM 9

In this paper, a new adaptive learning rate algorithm to train a single hidden layer neural network is proposed. The adaptive learning rate is derived by differentiating linear and nonlinear errors and functional constraints weight decay term at hidden layer and penalty term at output layer.

Waste Management & Research: The Journal for a Sustainable Circular Economy, 2014
Waste management can be regarded as a cross-cutting environmental ‘mega-issue’. Sound waste management practices support the provision of basic needs for general health, such as clean air, clean water and safe supply of food.

AbstractThe purpose of this research was to fit a high-accuracy levelling network to points of the vertical national control network, the control points of which are unstable because of vertical terrain movements caused by underground mining. For this reason, the robust M-estimation is used to reduce a negative impact of control points with gross ...

Our previous work shows the efficacy and better performance of the Zhang dynamics (ZD) model for solving online nonlinear equations, as compared with the conventional gradient dynamics (GD) model. It is also discovered that, if a nonlinear equation possesses a local minimum point, the ZD state, starting from some initial value close to it, may move ...
