Abstract A complete canonical formulation of general covariance makes it possible to construct new modified theories of gravity that are not of higher-curvature form, as shown here in a spherically symmetric setting. The usual uniqueness theorems are evaded by using a crucial and novel ingredient, allowing for fundamental fields of ...

Charting the landscape of modified gravity [PDF]
We explore brane induced gravity on a 3-brane in six locally flat dimensions. To regulate the short distance singularities in the brane core, we resolve the thin brane by a cylindrical 4-brane, with the geometry of 4D Minkowski $\times$ a circle, which has an axion flux to cancel the vacuum pressure in the compact direction.

Versatile vector tools for efficient protein screening across multiple expression systems
A unified vector toolkit enables rapid protein expression screening across E. coli, insect, and mammalian cells. A single primer pair amplifies the target gene, which is inserted into any vector via a standardized interface. This streamlined workflow eliminates repeated cloning steps, accelerating the identification of optimal expression conditions for

Gravity‐Dependent Modulation of Downbeat Nystagmus: Insights From Velocity‐Storage Dysfunction
ABSTRACT Objective Downbeat nystagmus varies with head position, a phenomenon termed gravity‐dependent modulation. We aimed to clarify its mechanism using a velocity‐storage model. Methods In 10 patients with downbeat nystagmus due to cerebellar disorders, we recorded eye movements at different pitch‐ and roll‐axis head positions.

Anomalous radial acceleration of galaxies and clusters supports hyperconical modified gravity
General relativity (GR) is the most successful theory of gravity, with great observational support at local scales. However, to keep GR valid at over cosmic scales, some phenomena (such as the flat galaxy rotation curves and the cosmic acceleration ...

Gravitational baryogenesis in f(T, Lm) gravity
The observed matter–antimatter asymmetry of the Universe remains a fundamental challenge in modern physics. In this work, we explore gravitational baryogenesis within the framework of f(T, Lm) gravity, where the gravitational Lagrangian depends on both ...

Brans–Dicke Unimodular Gravity
We propose a unimodular version of the Brans–Dicke theory designed with a constrained Lagrangian formulation. The resulting field equations are traceless.

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Along this review, we focus on the study of several properties of modified gravity theories, in particular on black-hole solutions and its comparison with those solutions in General Relativity, and on Friedmann–Lemaˆıtre–Robertson–Walker metrics.

We consider Non-local Gravity in view to obtain stable and traversable wormhole solutions. In particular, the class of Non-local Integral Kernel Theories of Gravity, with the inverse d'Alembert operator in the gravitational action, is taken into account.
