Modified Nuss procedure for severe thoracic deformity associated with paternal uniparental disomy 14: Report of a case

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Surgery Case Reports, 2014
AbstractPaternal uniparental disomy 14 (pUPD14) is a rare condition, and only about 30 cases have been reported in Japan. It is characterized by facial abnormalities, a small chest, and ventral abdominal wall defects. An 11-year-old girl with pUPD14 had severe thoracic deformity with a projection on the right side and depression on the left side.

Life Cycle Assessment of Graphite, Silicon Composite, and Silicon‐Dominant Anodes for Lithium‐Ion Batteries: Environmental Impacts, Uncertainties, and Supply Chain Considerations

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, Volume 10, Issue 2, February 2026.
The environmental impacts of graphite, silicon‐composite, and silicon‐dominant anodes were quantified through Life Cycle Assessment. Despite silicon's higher production energy demand, its superior capacity enables up to 97% lower CO2 emissions compared to graphite.

Hypovirus‐Induced Phosphorylation of CpIre1 Modulates Unfolded Protein Response and Virulence in Cryphonectria parasitica

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 2, February 2026.
Hypovirus‐induced phosphorylation of CpIre1 modulates the endoplasmic reticulum stress response in Cryphonectria parasitica. ABSTRACT The chestnut blight fungus Cryphonectria parasitica and its hypovirus constitute a valuable model for investigating fungal pathogenesis and cross‐kingdom virus–host interplay.

ZmmiR1432‐ZmCML21‐ZmPMA2 Module Affects Maize Low Phosphate Tolerance via Regulating Organic Acid Secretion

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 2, Page 921-938, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Phosphorus is indispensable in agricultural production. The growing global demand for food necessitates the development of crops with enhanced phosphorus utilisation efficiency. However, the molecular mechanisms coordinating phosphorus utilisation efficiency in plants remain incompletely characterised.

Constructed growth charts and nutrition for pontocerebellar hypoplasia type 2A

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, Volume 68, Issue 1, Page 82-90, January 2026.
To our knowledge, we are the first to provide constructed disease‐specific growth charts for PCH2A (age 0–18 years). Constructed growth charts (0–2 years) for height, weight, body mass index, and head circumference are compared in a sex‐disaggregated manner to typically developing children. Failure to thrive is evident despite normal caloric intake and

The Mycovirus Cryphonectria Hypovirus 1 Infects the Heterologous Host Fusarium oxysporum and Induces Hypovirulence

open access: yesPlant Pathology, Volume 75, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
The Cryphonectria parasitica hypovirus CHV1 efficiently replicates in the heterologous host Fusarium oxysporum, inducing clear hypovirulence, and has the potential to persist and spread in this pathogen by constant infections and re‐infections through hyphal anastomosis.

Age‐Related Differences and Effects of Internalizing Symptoms on Aperiodic Neural Activity in Adolescents

open access: yesPsychophysiology, Volume 63, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT The power spectrum derived from electroencephalography (EEG) recordings has been shown to include both periodic (e.g., delta, theta, alpha, beta) and aperiodic (e.g., 1/f exponent shape, vertical offset) components. Although internalizing disorders have been characterized by alterations in several periodic EEG measures, aperiodic activity has ...

Design of a Patient‐Specific 3D‐Printed Splint for Surgical Correction of Pectus Excavatum in a Kitten

open access: yesCase Reports in Veterinary Medicine, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Pectus excavatum is a rare congenital deformation of the chest wall. Associated clinical signs depend on the severity of the deformity of the sternum and costochondral cartilages. After thoracic radiographic studies, a patient‐specific plastic external splint was designed based on a previously made plaster cast of the chest of the kitten.
