MATISSE-v2.0: new functionalities and comparison with MODIS satellite images
SPIE Proceedings, 2011MATISSE (Advanced Modeling of the Earth for Environment and Scenes Simulation) is an infrared background scene generator developed for computing natural background spectral radiance images. The code also provides atmospheric radiatives quantities along lines of sight. Spectral bandwidth ranges from 0.4 to 14 μm.

A method for compositing MODIS satellite images to remove cloud cover
2009 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2009Techniques are presented for generating thermal infrared and visible composite images from cloud-free portions of MODIS (MODerate resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) images closely spaced in time, with a focus on studies of landfast sea ice along the East Antarctic coast.

Super-Resolution Reconstruction Algorithm To MODIS Remote Sensing Images
The Computer Journal, 2008In this paper, we propose a super-resolution image reconstruction algorithm to moderate-resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) remote sensing images. This algorithm consists of two parts: registration and reconstruction. In the registration part, a truncated quadratic cost function is used to exclude the outlier pixels, which strongly deviate ...

SPIE Proceedings, 2013
In this paper, we present the process of validating the atmospheric modelling software MATISSE (Advanced Modelling of the Earth for the Imaging and the Simulation of the Scenes and their Environment, developed by ONERA) by comparing simulation results of terrestrial and atmospheric background to MODIS satellite images.

Environmental Monitoring and Assessment
Downscaling methods are crucial for accessing high-resolution thermal data simultaneously. The DisTRAD model is commonly used for downscaling thermal images, but changes in soil moisture, such as those caused by irrigation operations, can lead to errors in the process.

Detection of Active Wildland Fires Using Multitemporal MODIS Images
IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2010The fire fractional area and radiances at 4 and 11 ?m of active fires in the boreal forests in Siberia and Mongolia were estimated using Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer images. In addition, a stochastic fire model was constructed.

Cloud masking of MODIS imagery based on multitemporal image analysis
International Journal of Remote Sensing, 2014We present multitemporal Bayesian classification of Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) mosaic data over the Caspian Sea during winter. The multitemporal analysis methods used were cross-correlation and motion detection based on phase correlation.

A Geostatistical Approach for Selecting the Highest Quality MODIS Daily Images
2013The aim of this work was to develop a new methodology for automatic selection of the highest quality MODIS daily images, MOD09GA Surface Reflectance product. The methodology developed here complements the quality assessment of MODIS products with a geostatistical analysis of spatial pattern images based on variogram tools.
