In this study, we show that retinal matrix stiffness is increased in diabetic mice. Using engineered human vascular models with controlled matrix stiffness, we demonstrate that stiffening activates focal adhesion kinase (FAK) signaling in pericytes, suppresses Notch signaling, and disrupts vascular morphology.

A dual‐modulus silicone release film creates distributed stress concentrations at high‐/low‐modulus boundaries, triggering multi‐site crack initiation and rapid interfacial detachment. The architecture lowers the peak separation force by 97.6%, shortens detachment time, and enables stable continuous projection stereolithography at 720 mm h−1, offering ...

Collatz Convergence through Logarithmic Descent and Modular Reduction
This paper presents a structural convergence argument for the Collatz Conjecture. The approach models the Collatz map as a deterministic dynamical system and introduces a modular reduction scheme (modulo 6) combined with a logarithmic descent function.

Technology modularity shapes latecomer cost convergence in renewables
Abstract National installed costs, rather than global averages, determine whether emerging economies can leapfrog incumbents in the transition to net-zero electricity. While technological diffusion theories assume that late-adopting countries seamlessly inherit early movers’ experience, sparse historical cost data outside advanced ...

Scalable Fabrication of Chemically Stabilized Gelatin Hydrogel Fibers by Thermal Drawing
Scalable processing of hydrogel fibers remains a major challenge. By coupling thermal drawing with Maillard chemistry, a transient viscous‐flow window is created that enables continuous fabrication of microstructured gelatin fibers tens of meters long, while continued in situ crosslinking during drawing stabilizes the fibers for physiological ...

High‐aspect‐ratio low‐melting‐point alloy inclusions are embedded within multilayer silicone laminates to create thermally programmable stiffness. Sequential activation of alloy‐rich layers produces four distinct mechanical states and reconfigures tendon‐driven actuator trajectories under the same load.
