Modularity of service design for IT company
Proceedings of 2010 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics, 2010Applying modular logic to service design is crucial to service innovation; however, both under-modularity and over-modularity results in strategic mistakes, in particular to the IT service offering companies. This paper firstly identifies four dimensions of the conceptual modular IT service platform for designing and providing service to the customers.

Modular design of reactive systems
Proceedings of the 28th Annual International Computer Software and Applications Conference, 2004. COMPSAC 2004., 2004We concentrate on two major aspects of reactive system design: behavior control and modularity. These are studied from a formal point of view, within the framework of action systems. The traditional interleaving paradigm is completed with a new barrier synchronization mechanism.

Modularity in design of products and systems
IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics - Part A: Systems and Humans, 1998Modularity refers to the use of common units to create product variants. This paper aims at the development of models and solution approaches to the modularity problem for mechanical, electrical, and mixed process products (e.g., electromechanical products).

Design methodology for modular tools
Production Engineering, 2011Serving individual customer needs at reasonable prices can be a profitable target market in high-wage countries. The dilemma between scale and scope-oriented production is one major research topic within the Cluster of Excellence “Integrative Production Technology for High-Wage Countries” at the RWTH Aachen University.

An Efficient and Modular Transmultiplexer Design
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1982A new transmultiplexer design is presented in which reliability is achieved by adopting a tree structure. A working principle based upon analytic signals results in a modular structure. The usage of FIR filters designed to have coefficients which are sums of a limited and prescribed number of powers of two together with an efficient, low-sensitivity ...

Modular Design of Irreducible Systems
2006Strategies of incremental evolution of artificial neural systems have been suggested over the last decade to overcome the scalability problem of evolutionary robotics In this article two methods are introduced that support the evolution of neural couplings and extensions of recurrent neural networks of general type These two methods are applied to ...

Adaptation and the modular design of organisms
1995In this paper the implications of the theory of evolutionary computation for evolutionary biology are explored. It is claimed that the concept of “representations” is particularly useful to understand the evolution of complex adaptation and the origin of the modular design of higher organisms.

Modular design of minicomputer applications
The IEEE Computer Society's Second International Computer Software and Applications Conference, 1978. COMPSAC '78., 2005Modular design techniques in minicomputer applications, as in most large software efforts, is critical, particularly in the laboratory research environment where the demands on the computer system for data acquisition and control continually change because of changing demands by the experimental program.

A Modular Approach to Protein Design.
1990Abstract : We have taken a modular approach to study peptide interactions with proteins as a model for protein-protein interactions. Two basic approaches were applied to this problem, and peptides were designed to bind either a specific sequence of double stranded DNA or the PP56lck tyrosine protein kinase. This protein kinase likely is the cytoplasmic
