A new space-vector selector modulation for the modular multilevel converter applications

2020 IEEE XXVII International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON), 2020
In this paper is proposed a new modulation technique for the modular multilevel converter, based on space vector theory. This technique is based on step-wave modulation (reduced switching frequency). Therefore, this technique performs a fast calculation of every pulse pattern of upper and lower arm three-phase voltages that will define the switching ...

Hybrid Interleaved Space Vector PWM for Ripple Reduction in Modular Converters

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2011
This paper addresses the problem of optimizing space vector PWM (SVM) for interleaved, parallel-connected, three-phase voltage source converters to reduce total harmonic distortion (THD) of the total line current. A systematic approach is presented for designing hybrid SVM schemes involving multiple sequences, including those based on active state ...

A new modular neutral point clamped converter with space vector modulation control

2018 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2018
This papers proposes a new 5-level modular neutral point clamped (MNPC) converter for medium voltage (MV) and high power applications. The proposed converter can operate at voltages up to 13.8kV using available commercial power semiconductor switches without series connection of the switches.

Amenability and Fixed Point Properties of Semitopological Semigroups in Modular Vector Spaces

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 2019
AbstractIn this paper, we initiate the study of fixed point properties of amenable or reversible semitopological semigroups in modular spaces. Takahashi’s fixed point theorem for amenable semigroups of nonexpansive mappings, and T. Mitchell’s fixed point theorem for reversible semigroups of nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces are extended to the ...

Space-vectors based hierarchical model predictive control for a modular multilevel converter

2015 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2015
The modular multilevel converter (MMC) is a competitive candidate for medium/high-power applications, specifically for high-voltage direct current transmission systems. Model predictive control (MPC) is an advanced and flexible method for power converters.

An overlapping multi-hexagon space vector modulation scheme for modular multilevel cascade converters

2013 15th European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications (EPE), 2013
This paper presents an adapted space vector modulation scheme for modular multilevel converters cascaded to higher levels. Instead of extending a single hexagon to the regions corresponding to the number of levels, this scheme uses multiple overlapping hexagons which are phase displaced relative to each other.

Indirect Space Vector Based Modulation Techniques for High-Power Multi-Modular Matrix Converters

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2012
Combining concepts of traditional multilevel converter and matrix converter (MC), the multimodular MCs (MMMCs) have reached the medium-voltage high-power level. These topologies possess features such as elimination of dc components and are able to output high-quality multilevel waveforms.

A three-level indirect space vector modulation scheme for multi-modular matrix converters

2012 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2012
The multi-modular matrix converters (MMMCs) constructed with three-phase to single-phase matrix converter modules have emerged as a viable topology candidate for high-power applications. Due to the three-to-two module structure and elimination of dc components, modulation scheme design for the MMMCs is not straightforward at first glance.

Control and Implementation of Reversible Multi-modular Converter with Interleaved Space Vector Modulation

2007 International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation, 2007
Reversible multi-modular converter has such merits as bidirectional energy flow, unity power factor, high power and high reliability. The Interleaved space vector modulation technique is developed to acquire a high equivalent switching frequency, and reduce the harmonic current injected into AC grid. This paper introduces a new reversible multi-modular
