Compressed sensing in array signal processing based on modulated wideband converter

2014 XXXIth URSI General Assembly and Scientific Symposium (URSI GASS), 2014
Nyquist theory is a serious obstacle to the wideband signal processing, which has been broken by compressed sensing theory. Modulated wideband converter can sample wideband signals with subNyquist frequency. In array signal processing, to bring down the sampling rate for the wideband signal is especially an essential issue.

Theoretical Analysis on Noise Performance of Modulated Wideband Converters for Analog Testing

2020 IEEE 29th Asian Test Symposium (ATS), 2020
The Modulated Wideband Converter (MWC) is one of the promising sub-Nyquist sampling architectures for sparse wideband signal sensing, cognitive radio applications and so on. In order to design an MWC-based RF receiver that meets a target RF specification, noise figure (NF) of the MWC has to be well-defined by its design properties. This paper reviews a

A calibration system and perturbation analysis for the Modulated Wideband Converter

IEEE 10th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SIGNAL PROCESSING PROCEEDINGS, 2010
A calibration system is proposed in this paper for the Modulated Wideband Converter (MWC), which is an efficient sampling system for the sparse multiband signals. The proposed calibration system has the ability to acquire actual measurement matrix and is achievable both in its structure and in its computational complexity.

The effect of modulated wideband converter placement on compressive spectrum sensing

2013 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium (APSURSI), 2013
The modulated wideband converter (MWC) introduced in [1] enables a wide band of spectrum to be sensed using inexpensive components. The MWC spreads the received signal in frequency, which allows the spectral occupancy to be sensed from sub-Nyquist rate samples via compressive sensing techniques.

An Optimized Circulant Measurement Matrix Construction Method Used in Modulated Wideband Converter for Wideband Spectrum Sensing

2018 IEEE 87th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2018
Modulated wideband converter (MWC) is a blind undersampling system for sparse multiband signal. By the available hardware and compressed sensing method, it can realize energy-efficient wideband spectrum sensing under sub-Nyquist sampling rate. In this paper, we propose an optimized circulant measurement matrix constructing method which is suitable for ...

Wideband modeling and transient analysis of sub-module in modular multilevel converter

COMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 2017
Purpose This paper aims to establish the wideband model of a sub-module in a modular multilevel converter (MMC) and analyze the switch transients of the sub-module. Design/methodology/approach The paper builds an MMC sub-module test circuit and conducts dynamic tests both with and without the bypass thyristor.

A new approach to near-theoretical sampling rate for modulated wideband converter

2014 International Conference on Signal Processing and Communications (SPCOM), 2014
For a multiband signal, the minimum sampling rate required for an arbitrary sampling method, which allows perfect reconstruction, is NB, where N is the number of bands and B is the maximum bandwidth. It has been proposed in the literature that, if the carrier frequency information of a multiband signal is not known apriori, then we require a minimum ...

A calibration for the modulated wideband converter using sinusoids with unknown phases

2017 Ninth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN), 2017
Based on the compressed sensing theory, the sub-Nyquist samplers are proposed to acquire the wideband signals. Among them, although the modulated wideband converter (MWC) is theoretically well designed, a calibration is needed for the implementation.

Frequency spectrum analysis of compressed sampling datum based on modulated wideband converter

2016 IEEE Information Technology, Networking, Electronic and Automation Control Conference, 2016
In order to reduce the computational complexity of frequency spectrum analysis, we aim to investigate spectrum directly from compressed sampling datum based on Modulated Wideband Converter (MWC) principle without using sparse reconstruction operation. Due to better performance of processing multiband signal, MWC is the most successful architecture of ...

The design of a novel wideband up-converter module in millimeter wave

2016 CIE International Conference on Radar (RADAR), 2016
In this paper, a novel wideband up-converter module applied in millimeter wave is proposed. The local signal (LO) of 13∼17GHz is feed into an active multiplier through a SMA connector, and the output signal of 26∼34GHz is then mixed with an intermediate frequency signal (IF) of 6GHz±0.5GHz through another SMA connector.
