A new method for the integration of modulation and channel coding in an ARQ protocol

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1992
A method for the integration of the modulation operation in an automatic-repeat-request (ARQ) scheme is described. This method uses a memory for the successive transmissions of a codeword and, through a suitable encoding operation, the Euclidean distances among the codewords are significantly increased with the number of transmissions.

The Modulation Method Based on Reed-Solomon Code for Watermarking

2012 9th International Conference on Ubiquitous Intelligence and Computing and 9th International Conference on Autonomic and Trusted Computing, 2012
The modulation method base on Reed-Solomon code for watermarking technology is proposed here. The DC, low-frequency coefficients, the inter-block correlation and Reed-Solomon code will be combined in order to develop a robustness watermarking. In other words, the inter-block correlation and the DC, low frequency coefficients which are belongs to the ...

A class-coded modulation method using orthogonal wavelets

WCNC. 1999 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (Cat. No.99TH8466), 2003
Researchers have studied two types of digital multi-carrier modulation, wavelet packet modulation (WPM), and fractal modulation. The advantage of WPM is that it allows signal time and frequency to be divided and multiplexed. Therefore the time and frequency of noise signals, e.g., tone and impulse noise, can be identified and effectively partitioned in

A note on lattice quantized coded modulation method

Electronics and Communications in Japan (Part III: Fundamental Electronic Science), 1995
AbstractThere is the expectation that lattice quantizers that use lattice basis vectors will be capable of source coding at high rates and low distortion. the application of lattice theory in coded‐modulation, on the other hand, is now at a practical stage (as can be seen in such applications as general telephone networks and mobile communication ...
