Analog network coding using differential and double-differential modulation with relay selection
A simple relay selection scheme is proposed for analog network coding using differential modulation (ANC-DM). We propose a relay selection scheme based solely on the received signal power in which their own information is canceled out at each source node.

We propose a graph-based modulation format identification (MFI) scheme for elastic optical network (EON), which exploits the trajectory information of the adjacent received symbols to identify six commonly-used modulation formats signals.

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

A Model Predictive Control Scheme with Minimum Common-Mode Voltage for PMSM Drive System Fed by VSI
Common-mode voltage (CMV) brings shaft voltage and shaft current, and corrodes the bearings of the permanent-magnet synchronous machine (PMSM), which affects the reliability of the whole PMSM drive system.

Upper-Bound Performance of a Wide-Band Adaptive Modem
Adaptive modulation is applied in conjunction with a decision-feedback equalizer (DFE) in order to mitigate the effects of the slowly varying wide-band multipath Rayleigh fading channel in a noise-limited environment.

Lock-in detection for pulsed electrically detected magnetic resonance [PDF]
We show that in pulsed electrically detected magnetic resonance (pEDMR) signal modulation in combination with a lock-in detection scheme can reduce the low-frequency noise level by one order of magnitude and in addition removes the microwave-induced non ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Modulation Schemes for Visible Light Communications
Visible light communication (VLC) is one of the most recent technological breakthroughs in wireless communications and it is expected to contribute significantly on future generations of mobile communications. The fundamental feature of VLC is the use of visible light spectrum to transmit data along with the traditional use for illumination.

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...
