A Modulus of Continuity for a Class of Quasi-Smooth Functions [PDF]
Let Z be the Zygmund class of functions f on [-1,1] such that \(f(- 1)=f(1)=0\) and \(| \Delta^ 2_ hf| \leq 2h.\) Let \(\omega (h)=\sup_{f\in Z}\sup_{| x-y| \leq h}| f(x)-f(y)|.\) Theorem. \[ \omega (h)\leq h \log_ 2\{2eK/(h \log_ 2 e)\}; \] here \(K=\sup_{f\in Z}\sup_{x}| f(x)\). A Cu‐based crystal‐glass composite with high‐density twins is identified by a fast screening technique using combinatorial sputtering together with XRD and nanoindentation mapping. This bamboo‐like structure demonstrates homogenous plastic flow and retains high strength during in situ high temperature tests, up to 1 GPa at 550°C, owing to those ...

Estimates for Durrmeyer-type exponential sampling series in Mellin-Orlicz spaces
This study examines Durrmeyer-type exponential sampling series to obtain a quantitative estimate by using the concept of the logarithmic modulus of smoothness defined with the help of a suitable modular functional on Mellin-Orlicz spaces.

Lp - Approximation by Iterates of Certain Summation-Integral Type Operators [PDF]
The present paper is a study of Lp- approximation in terms of higher order integral modulus of smoothness for an iterative combination due to Micchelli, of certain summation-integral type operators using the device of Steklov means.

A modulus of smoothness based on an algebraic addition
The Bernstein-Jackson theorems relate the smoothness of a \(2\pi\)-periodic function \(f\) to the rapidity of convergence to \(f\) of, \(t_n\), the best approximation to \(f\) from the trigonometric polynomials of degree \(n\) or less. This paper defines a new modulus of continuity, \(w(f)\), for the function \(f\) defined on \([-1,1]\) so that a ...

Bio‐Inspired Molecular Events in Poly(Ionic Liquids)
Originating from dipolar and polar inter‐ and intra‐chain interactions of the building blocks, the topologies and morphologies of poly(ionic liquids) (PIL) govern their nano‐ and micro‐processibility. Modulating the interactions of cation‐anion pairs with aliphatic dipolar components enables the tunability of properties, facilitated by “bottom‐up ...

The Bézier variant of Kantorovich type λ-Bernstein operators
In this paper, we introduce the Bézier variant of Kantorovich type λ-Bernstein operators with parameter λ∈[−1,1] $\lambda\in[-1,1]$. We establish a global approximation theorem in terms of second order modulus of continuity and a direct approximation ...

Dual‐Ligand Metal‐Organic Frameworks via In Situ Amidoxime Engineering for Selective Ion Separation
Inspired by microbial ion‐trapping mechanisms, a mild and universal strategy is developed to construct highly porous amidoxime‐functionalized MOFs. DFT calculations and molecular force measurements reveal that the dual‐ligand amidoxime configuration significantly strengthens Ga(III) affinity.
