Distortion Strain Energy–Based Mohr-Coulomb Criterion for Concrete Failure
Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, 2017AbstractOn the basis of comprehensive analysis of experimental phenomenon and micro/mesomechanism, it is found that concrete failure is controlled by normal stress on failure plane and distortion s...

Equation of Limit Condition of the Three-Parameter Mohr-Coulomb Criterion
2019The analysis of criteria for plasticity of soils has done. It has been established that when solving the axisymmetric problem of soil resistance of the roadway to shear, many analytical criteria give the same result with the classical two-parameter Mohr – Coulomb criterion.

Mohr-Coulomb Failure Criterion Expressed in Terms of Stress Invariants
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1998A polynomial expression for the Mohr-Coulomb criterion for failure of brittle or frictional materials in terms of stress invariants is derived. The form of the polynomial expression corresponds to the pyramidal shape of the failure surface in principal stress space. The pressure-sensitive character of the failure of a Mohr-Coulomb material is indicated

Mechanics of Earth Fissures Using the Mohr-Coulomb Failure Criterion
Environmental and Engineering Geoscience, 2008Earth fissures are approximately vertical cracks in the ground. They are caused by natural events such as earthquakes or by human activities such as groundwater level decline due to pumping. The latter has become a major worldwide issue in areas where groundwater is pumped for domestic, agricultural, and industrial use.

This paper compares calculation results obtained with the Mohr-Coulomb and Drucker-Prager material models. The models are implemented in a finite element code and the exact models are used, i.e. no rounding of yield surface corners or apices is performed.

A Mohr-Coulomb Failure Criterion for Rocks Subjected to Dynamic Loading
2013The classical Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion has been extensively used in various rock engineering applications. To investigate the applicability of the Mohr-Coulomb model to dynamic rock failures, I examined in this work the correlation of the three dynamic rock properties: compressive strength, tensile strength and punch shear strength of Longyou ...
