A Phenomenological Mohr—Coulomb Failure Criterion for Composite Laminates under Interlaminar Shear and Compression

Journal of Composite Materials, 2007
A new phenomenological delamination criterion has been proposed for considering the effects of through-thickness compression based on a modified Mohr—Coulomb friction mechanism. Published experimental results show that through-thickness compressions increase the interlaminar shear (ILS) strength nonlinearly, which requires a nonlinear friction ...

Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion from unidirectional mechanical testing of sand cores after thermal exposure

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2019
Abstract Sand core samples were subjected to thermal pre-conditioning profiles between 200 and 500 °C both in ambient air and under sealed conditions. These were customised similar to an industrial cast aluminium cylinder head. The samples were investigated via unconfined compression, splitting tensile, shear, and bending tests.

IC MAGE Model 03 – strain-hardening/softening Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion with transversely isotropic small strain stiffness

2021
IC MAGE M03 is a user-defined model for PLAXIS built using the IC MAGE UMIP framework which combines a strain-hardening/softening Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion based on the deviatoric plastic strain with the IC.G3S transversely isotropic small strain stiffness model.

Comparison of Hoek-Brown and Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion for deep open coal mine slope stability

Structural Engineering and Mechanics, 2016
In deep open pit mines, slope stability is very important. Particularly, increasing the depths increase the risks in mines having weak rock mass. Blasting operations in this type of open pits may have a negative impact on slope stability. Several or combination of methods can be used in order to enable better analysis in this type of deep open-pit ...

A Mohr-Coulomb Failure Criterion for Rocks Subjected to Dynamic Loading

2013
The classical Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion has been extensively used in various rock engineering applications. To investigate the applicability of the Mohr-Coulomb model to dynamic rock failures, I examined in this work the correlation of the three dynamic rock properties: compressive strength, tensile strength and punch shear strength of Longyou ...

Experimental Study on Dynamic Strength Regional Characteristics of Undisturbed Loess Based on the Mohr-Coulomb Failure Criterion

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
Based on Mohr - Coulomb failure criterion, dynamic strength characteristic of undisturbed loess in Xining, Lanzhou, Xiji and Xian was studied through dynamic triaxial test. And the regional characteristics of void ratio, natural moisture content, plasticity index and dynamic shear strength with different vibration frequency and natural conditions were ...
